“A jewel in the Highlands crown”
Reviewed 25 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

A superb holiday was made by staying at the West Lodge. So very comfortable and a perfect location for travelling around the Highlands and Islands.. John and Helen have worked so very hard to make this property into a home from home. We are looking forward to visiting again in October. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful lodge.. In fact I have done so already.

“Excellent cottage in a beautiful and engaging setting”

Our stay at West Lodge was a real pleasure. We especially enjoyed the locality and having easy access to great walks, both long and short. Plus plenty of other things to see in the area. Red deer were frequent visitors to the garden and even managed to see red kites, (which was a small concern as we have a chihuahua). The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and we had everything we needed. We had some really nippy weather and the open fire and plentiful supply of wood was a great touch. Highly recommend if you value peace and beauty in the Scottish Highlands.

“A beautiful relaxing tranquil haven :)”

We had a fabulous week in West Lodge with our 2 Labradors. It was great to walk from the Lodge up the hills to see the amazing views and watch the magnificent red deer and also beside the river and through the estate. We came back to barbecue and relax in the large garden until the sun went down and then went inside to sit beside the lovely log burner. The Lodge is extremely well equipped and was a perfect retreat for a relaxing break and we are looking forward to returning again this year to explore more of the surrounding area. Thank you John and Helen for allowing us to share your beautiful tranquil haven.

“Gorgeous stunning classy cozy clean value in the highlands!”

The lodge is so beautiful it's charm reflects the highlands and nature surrounding it. Well located for all of our outdoor adventures, stags and deer peer into the windows there wasn't a day we didn't see any. The forests surrounding lead to glacial lochs and so many interesting trails to explore. The bluebells were out and it was so beautiful wherever we went. We were able to kayak, bike, hike walk to the nearest pub (a fair walk ) but enjoyable for a afternoon outing;)
I highly recommend the week, the amenities are new, washer, dryer cosy kitchen and all new beds! So homely with the log fire at the end of your daily adventures in an abundance of nature and tranquility.
