“Homely and comfortable cottage amidst stunning scenery”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

A beautiful property in a fantastic location . The property is furnished to a high standard but also felt very comfortable and homely. The accommodation was spotless and the treat of shortbread and " wee dram " were very welcome . Even the Journey to Monty's was a wonderful experience driving alongside Loch Ness. Lovely walks past the water falls down to the Loch with very friendly locals to chat along the way. This really is a lovely cottage set in a great area & I would highly recommend it.

Monty's Cottage is a superb cottage finished off to a very high standard with all the facilities you need to enjoy your stay. All the sights of Loch Ness are within a short drive with plenty of dog walking routes on your doorstep. Our spanador Mikki absolutely loved it! Even the journey to the cottage past Loch Lomond and through Glencoe is breath taking . The whole holiday was a perfect way to spend our silver wedding anniversary. Highly recommended.

“Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location”

A beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable home from home holiday. All furnishings/fittings were of a very high standard and quality. A very relaxed and cosy feel to the cottage and the location is amazing. Just minutes walking distance from stunning scenery. A little shop and cafe within walking distance too. The owners have thought of everything and were very approachable.

“Exactly what we were hoping for!”

Stayed at Montys cottage end of January 2014. Arrived to find the cottage was everything we were hoping for. Good location in Foyers.Shop & cafe just down the road and Tesco superstore on the way to Inverness.
Cottage is very nicely finished off. Very comfortable living living room and bedrooms. Beds are very comfortable. No problem sleeping! Kitchen looks new and has everything you need.
Easy walking around the local area for the dog.Owners even provided extra blankets for him.
Tried the local hotels for food. Whitebridge Hotel is good and very dog-friendly. Craigdarroch Hotel was OK but probably wouldn't return.
All in all, a nice way to spend a quiet week in northern Scotland.

Management Response
16 Feb 2014
Dear guest,

Thank you for your review of Monty's Cottage. Sorry to hear that the cottage took a bit of time to heat up. We do keep the heating on in winter, but at a low temperature to prevent the pipes from freezing (it is too costly to keep it at room temperature for long periods of time when unoccupied). We include instructions for the central heating in the arrival information sent to guests before they visit, so that they know how to turn the temperature up as soon as they arrive. However, based on your comments, we will try to enlist the help of a local friend to do this on the day people are due to arrive, in advance of their check-in.

Thanks again for your booking and feedback, we hope that future customers enjoy their stay as much as you did.

Regards
Monty's Cottage

“A beautiful home from home”

Monty's is the perfect place to spend a weekend or more to explore Loch Ness & the surrounding area. It's been decorated beautifully, crisp white bed linen, cosy mattress toppers & duvets all make for a peaceful nights sleep. Everything has been thought of here to give it a home from home feel, infact there were more kitchen utensils than I have in my own home, & all of excellent quality. The lounge with its log burner is perfect after a day out walking to warm up & spend a cosy night in. The location is idealic, you can go for walks down to Loch Ness where you pass a stunning waterfall, or drive along to nearby village Dores in 15 minutes where there's a fab pub for drinks or dinner. This really is a stunning cottage & I would highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed!
