“Home from home exquisite cottage.”
Reviewed 17 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Excellent spotless well looked after cottage. You will find everything you need for a perfect holiday supplied here in Kintore Cottage. A very comfortable feeling as soon as you enter , you will find cottage spotless and very well maintained. Plenty of space in the rooms and a kitchen to die for,IF you need there is a great big wood burner ,shower room. As I myself am disabled and find walking difficult it was wonderful to find there was only a two inch lip at door ,so the entry was so easy if you have walking difficulties. Lots of out door space grass area and chips at parking space,or sit at front of cottage watch the world go by and see the boats go up through the loch gates. The Village garage has a shop which caters for all your needs excellent choice in food stuffs. Can't recommend this wonderful comfortable cottage enough.

“Unforgettable stay in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed 28 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Kintore Cottage is a beautiful, character cottage which has been restored with quality workmanship to a very high standard. It is cosy and welcoming with an enviable location in the heart of the beautiful town of Fort Augustus. The log burner was a most welcome feature and i enjoyed building and tending the fire each evening. The cottage is only a short stroll to Loch Ness which is beyond description and you can reach so many other wonderful beauty spots by driving a very short distance. Having said this, the drives themselves were so scenic that distances were no object and were barely noticed during the mile upon mile of staggering scenery. The cottage owner was very helpful with a minor query and was keen that nothing should spoil the holiday (which it didn't). Would definitely book again and probably for the summer as the Caledonian canal was closed at the time I stayed and I didn't get to see the boating activities which I can imagine would be very interesting to watch.

“Idyllic Cottage in Fort Augustus”
Reviewed 30 November 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Kintore Cottage is quite a surprise. What a fantastic renovation of this early 1800's building. It comes complete with a modern well appointed kitchen, very comfortable lounge with wood heater (already set to go on arrival!!) and a modern bathroom. Superbly maintained and clean. Plenty of books and games provided if you don't want to go out. But what a position, right on the canal where during the day there is always some boating activity. We took several walks along the canal tow paths and used the bicycles to go up to the next set of locks. We also received great help from the local tourism office who gave us guidance for several local walks. Just cross the canal to excellent pubs for meals or cook your own. Well stocked supermarket close by.

We stayed a week and were able to explore further afield to Skye and south to Fort William.
Would certainly stay again.

“Beautifully restored cottage ideal for exploring loch ness area”
Reviewed 16 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Spent 3 nights at kintore cottage in February with two young kids so made great use of the excellent wood burning stove.Well placed for exploring both sides of Loch Ness (south side well recommended for scenery and walks). The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a great break.

“Exceptional cottage, lovingly restored to a very high standard.”
Reviewed 23 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This cottage has been lovingly restored to a very high standard and it shows. It is situated along the lochside and just watching the boats up and down the lochs is quite amazing. The cottage itself has all you could wish for, a lovely log fire (although we were lucky enough not to have needed to light it), adds character to it. Fort Augustus is quite central for travelling around the lower highlands, the views and walks are spectacular. Thank you for the use of your lovely cottage. We would love to come back.
