We've just spent 5 nights at the Boys Dormitory and it wasn't long enough frankly, we really only scratched the surface on places to visit and things to do. We spent 2 days enjoying the wonderful apartment and amazing Abbey and exploring Fort Augustus which is situated right on the banks of Loch Ness. The apartment is beautifully decorated with magnificent views over the mountains and the loch but my favourite half an hour was spent with a cup of tea early in the morning on the bench by the shore! Our favourite restaurant is the Boathouse about 50 yards away, very nice. Would definitely recommend the whole place and can't wait to return one day.
Amazing apartment with incredible views! A stones throw from the local amenities (I can recommend the Lock Inn and Monster Fish and Chips for food) and a few moments away from the edge of the Loch. There are a lot of steps and floors to climb to get up to the apartment, but it's well worth it - that view!! The flat is well equipped and very clean, and is beautifully decorated. The whole Abbey that the flat is part of is also an amazing place to be in. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to stay here again!
My partner and I stayed in this flat in October 2016 and couldn't recommend it highly enough. We were in the highlands to explore and hunt for views but it was difficult to beat the view from our living room window. The flat is comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated - also well equipped. The owners have paid great attention to detail to make this apartment feel interesting and personal. We hope to return sometime.

A beautiful and well kept property. Highly recommend a stay at the Boys Dormitory, feels like a step back in time, but with a modern twist. If you love the Harry Potter films, you won't be disappointed as has a Hogwarts feel about it. It is a quiet, peaceful location, near Loch Ness and the Caledonian canal with just a small number of lovely shops, pubs and eateries. Not far by car to the Ben Nevis Range, Inverness and the Jacobite Steam Train at Fort William. Loved staying here, and would love to go back. The apartment has everything you would need, great for couples.
Perfect getaway in the converted abbey, overlooking the Loch Ness.
The whole abbey has an amazing history and looks beautiful from the outside, with the exception of a modern wing which feels very misplaced.
The boys dorm is at the top of a large set of stairs so may not be suitable for all - you are rewarded with excellent views on 3 sides.
The apartment is spacious and luxurious -well designed with comfy sofas looking out over the amazing view.
It is well maintained with excellent service given for our late arrival in Friday night.
I would highly recommend this as a romantic escape.
