Fantastic Stay
Just wished we had stayed longer...fantastic house . Very well equipped with everything you need. The house was spotless on arrival. We only booked a few days before. The bed was so comfy.. Dogs were made so welcome with towels and bowls. They loved the dog chew that was left for our furry friends. Beautiful setting... loved our walks round the Monastery inside and out. Unfortunately the pool was closed due to coved.. Certainly didn’t affect our stay.

Cottage
We loved this cottage, everytime we come it takes our breath away with the scenery and surroundings, and of course the beautiful cottage which is immaculate. So much culture and wildlife in the surrounding areas. Perfect for relaxing and a break away. Cant wait to bring the grandkids back.

About the neighbourhood
The Great Glen fault line has created the hills forests and lochs that define the region. For walkers cyclist runners and climbers there is an abundance of routes including the Great Glen Way, the Loch Ness Trail, Alt Na Criche, Ben Nevis and many many more. The Calenonian Canal with its Canal Locks in the centre of Fort Augustsus provide opportunity to enjoy sailing or canoeing or simply admire the many craft coming through the locks. For sightseeing and history, visit Urquhart Castle, Eilan Donan Castle, and hop on a boat to Skye. Whiskey tasting, Ceilidh music and dancing, Dolphins, beaches, ski lift are just a few other possibilities to enjoy your stay. Not much time left for looking for Nessie but who knows, she may appear.
Getting around
A car is the best way to to see as much as possible of the highlands, but there is a good bus service between Fort William and Inverness coming through the village several times a day in season, less in the winter. Tour operators will organise trips for you but do arrange things in advance during the season.
