Lovely guy and very welcoming but not what we expected. Road wasn't the best up to it but comedic roads signs were entertaining. Very little to see on arrival.

I came here upon the recommendation of a friend.
It really is off the beaten track, of about 5 miles on a narrow track on the top of a massive hill with the Loch Ness looking small from below. We finally got there and there was a little parking area and there is a short walk to the cafe, which looks like a little house.
We were greeted as we entered and there was hot drinks and a variety of home made cake on offer. It was all served on/in the pottery made on site and it all looked and tasted really good - especially the ginger cake.
You can also buy the pottery on display, it is not cheap but beautifully made.

The cafe has a rustic, laid back atmosphere and are artists first - this means that like us, we had to remind the guy that we were still around and wanted to pay the bill (others just left cash and went off). He apologised profusely - he had got carried away with his pottery!

They were genuinely lovely people, but come here is you do not mind the more relaxed service and have time to spare.

I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. You're quite right. The cafe was opened really for those on the Great Glen Way and those who climb our adjacent mountain - we don't otherwise advertise it. We are not a pit stop for the A82, but all are most welcome.

We visited here today after seeing lovely reviews on TripAdvisor, unfortunately we did not experience the same. We parked at the start of the path to the pottery works as it looked narrow. After walking up we wandered into the pottery works where we stood around for at least 10 mins without anyone coming through from the back where we could hear them talking. We weren't quiet so it must have been fairly obvious we were there. After a while we decided to leave however the small black dog wandering around decided to go for my six year old daughter snapping at her hand and legs. We have three dogs, My daughter know how to behave around dogs this was uncalled for. Still no one appeared and we left after a horrendous experience. I have never posted a bad review on TripAdvisor but felt this wasn't ok.

What a ghastly experience. I will speak sternly to our pekingese Jack - he's only trained to bite little boys. But seriously, I'm sorry you felt ignored but a shout would probably have done the trick.

We saw a sign for pottery and after what felt like several miles on thin windy road we came across the end of the road and a wonderful world of pottery. Which unfortunately was closed due to refurbishment but the owner was very very kind to show us through the back door and the kiln and things being made. Very very kind and friendly. Would definately come back.
