Ugh. Someone has strung a wire across the beach and is operating a zipline there now. So much for pristine... What next, a roller coater at Balnakeil? A motocross park at Sandwood?

Absolutely stunning beach, visited here on the way from Bettyhill to Durness, if you're driving the same way you'll pass Tongue and Loch Eriboll, beautiful part of the world, we'll definitely be back!

all the beaches in this area are beautiful, clear waters and white sandy , totally unspoilt and a pleasure to explore.

A gorgeous walk with our Labrador. The water colour and small waves made the beach look tropical despite a fresh wind and a misty drizzle. Our lab loved playing in the small waves. Rocks were lovely in shape with interesting pools around the bases. Interesting sand "waterfalls" coming down onto the beach.

We and particular our dog Jed loved our daily visit to this beach during our week in Durness. The beach was different each time we visited and usually we were the only visitors. Convenient parking across the road and a short walk down the path and stairs . Best early morning , low tide. If the sun comes out , even better. Also visit secret beach next door - more of an effort but worth it.
