We were after a remote cabin in Scotland where we could really kick back and relax and boy did we find it at Braes Lodge.
As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Mandy, our host, who was incredibly friendly and welcomed us into the Lodge. Showing us around and pointing out how to use the log fire and hot tub. She had even set up the fire to get the lodge nice and warm for us and left us to tuck into the welcome hamper which included Champagne and delicious oatcakes.
Everything about the Lodge works so well together, from the cosy living room area where you can snuggle up next to the log fire during a chilly night, to the luxury kitchen which has all the best gadgets and appliances making cooking a sheer pleasure.
Should you wish to watch TV, then the Lodge comes has a great entertainment system with Freesat channels plus plenty of DVDs and Blu Rays for you to choose from.
One thing to note is that there is no phone signal at the Lodge, however, there is a payphone in the porch which is more than enough to book a meal at one of the many local restaurants (we recommend The Courtyard at Kenmore only a 15-20 minute drive and lovely food/setting).
A massive plus for this place is the hot tub which is just outside the french doors. When we stayed the weather was a bit chilly and drizzly but getting into the lovely warm hot tub was a great way to enjoy the scenery of Loch Kinardochy.
Another recommend 'thing to do' is to visit the Highland Safari which is down the road. There are lots of activities based from there such as cycling and feeding deer but also Land Rover experience and the Safari itself.
This place is such a great find and have already been recommending it to anyone and everyone - now we're planning when we will return next year.

Stunning lodge set in stunning scenery in what can only be the best place in Scotland for wildlife, walking and adventure. Travelling up from south west Scotland for honeymoon and can't rate the place highly enough. Great communication from Mandy the owner and it's kept in such a high quality condition it's great to see. Lovely welcome hamper, great facilities, hot tub looking over loch kinardochy enough said. Great walks close by. Some good restaurants in aberfely. Don't miss this place.
A relaxing three days spent in the lodge, early September 2016. Beautiful location, well presented property, attentive hosts.
Hot tub looking out across the loch was undoubtedly the highlight for us.
We came upon Braes Lodge by accident - and what a find! Am almost reluctant to post as it's a good one to keep secret! The location is superb if you want to get away from it all - Aberfeldy being the nearest town about 8 miles away. Accommodation was absolutely spotless and the lodge is superbly equipped. The 'always on' hot tub is an added bonus - especially after some serious walking - the tub helping to take away aches and pains. It's a great place especially for couples - very romantic.
the place is amazing! the views and the hot tub just top it off. Mandy was so lovely and organised at short notice a bday surprise. definitely coming back!
