“A secluded cosy retreat on the sea front.”
Reviewed 22 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

A last minute booking (which wasn't instantly confirmed but had to be checked with the owner due to short notice. This was the only slight downside, the owner confirmed quickly fortunately) which turned up this real gem for two. It was tastefully furnished, not too spartan, with books and games should the weather prove unhelpful. The bed was generous and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with some essentials (tea bags, coffee, condiments etc) and even a pint of milk in the fridge to set us up. The village was lovely for a wee bimble along the harbour and round the block to work up an appetite for the fish and chips which could be bought from the visiting van (times clearly presented in the information pack). A local grocery store and coffee shops nearby were unexpected bonuses. Thank you for a lovely stay; we'll be back!

Liked best: The peace and quiet; a real home from home. The sense of living in a home not a holiday let.
Liked least: The fact that we'd not realised there was a ferry that comes directly into St Margaret's Hope!

What a picturesque Setting. Cottage is exceptional, clean & cosy, equipped with all you could need for a comfortable home from home experience. The owners Tracey & Peter were so welcoming. The Village of St Margarets Hope is a fantastic base to visit all the historic sights of Orkney. We will certainly be booking up again next year....no doubt about that!!

“Great cottage and location”

Cottage with plenty of space and everything you need in a great location. Ideal for couples (fold down bed is available for a third guest). Well maintained and very clean with lots of information about the Orkney Islands. Plenty of hot water and a powerful shower. Handy for local amenities (shop, coffee shop and bar, pub and ferry). Parking next to the cottage.

“Cosy and Comfortable”

The Noust is right on the water at St Margaret's Hope. It is cosy, clean and tidy. There is one room downstairs with kitchen on one side and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Only complaint was I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work.
If you are doing things in the southern part of the Orkneys the location is great. If you plan to spend more time in the northern parts you might find the distance to St Margaret's Hope a little inconvenient.

“A wonderful place”
Reviewed 26 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed here for two weeks and absolutely loved it. The cottage is exactly as described on TA. Very well equipped, very clean and a magnificent location by the sea. We would willingly have stayed longer if we had had the time. Close to local well stocked Post Office and pub plus ferry to mainland. Fish and chip van stops almost outside on a Saturday evening. brilliant!
