Description: The Ropemakers is a traditional town centre pub offering good value lunches and a fine selection of beers. All the food is home cooked and all the ingredients are locally sourced and of the highest quality. We offer Palmers real ales and are Cask Marque accredited. At the weekends we have become welll known for live music with both local bands as well as some from further away. We like to feel that we offer a really good variety of music from some of the best pub and festival circuit bands around.

We visited whilst on holidays in the area. Had fish platter and deep fried cheese and it was very good! Very nice staff, quiet (We came on Wednesday though), very nice garden with comfy couches. We'd definitely recommend this pub to everyone!

Really like the Ropemakers. Always a friendly welcome, live music on a Sunday, well kept beer, nice people inside.

The staff at The Ropemakers are all very friendly, especially the lovely young lady (in shorts) who was running around like a lunatic keeping everyone served and happy on the day that we were there. The Ropemakers is one of those lovely old pubs with lots of cosy corners where its easy to feel comfortable and pass the time. The food was ok, although I found my fish finger sandwich to be a bit on the greasy side. My husband and Mum said that they both enjoyed their sandwiches but had had better. But saying that, I cannot fault a pub that is both dog friendly and people friendly (trust me, there are some way more expensive pubs that are neither i.e. The Anchor at Seatown), so we would definitely give it another go when we are in the area next.
