“Great location for central Bridport”
Reviewed 31 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Terrific location for the town centre, where there are loads of great places to eat and drink, and you can walk to West Bay in 30 mins or so. Lovely cottage in very nice condition. Great welcome pack of nibbles, cakes and wine, which went down very well with us and the kids!

“Could be better.”

We loved Bridport and the surrounding area. There is so much for couples and families to do. Highlights were the Carnival, torch light procession, Melplash Show and the wonderful independant shops - special mention to RJ Balson Butchers and Snoops Hat Shop.

We stayed at Applebee cottage for one week but until the hot water issue and bedding is sorted out we wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

It was most disappointing that there was such a poor and inconsistent hot water flow for the shower. This resulted in a temperature variation from tepid to very cold water. Just not good enough.

Also for families and small groups, the smaller bedroom containing two small single beds is really only appropriate for light bodied children and not an average sized adult.

When we return to Bridport we would choose to stay in another property.

“Perfect for town and country”
Reviewed 8 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

The cottage is right in town, and has everything you might need- very clean and tidy. Parking is nearby and very cheap, lots of lovely walks and beaches, and we had great weather too! The only thing that could improve this would be some outside space.

“Lovely cottage, good base to explore West Dorset from.”

Well presented, well equipped and really clean. We had a lovely stay here, the cottage was really homely and we appreciated the goodies when we arrived. Bridport is an interesting historic Town with plenty of places to eat and drink and a decent supermarket 2min walk from the cottage. The cliffs at West bay are a 30min walk from the Town centre. It's a great base to explore West Dorset from, with amazing coastal scenery to attractions such as the Abbotsbury Swannery, a week was too short, we will be back!
