My cousin and I stopped here on the way home from Crewkerne. I hadnt been to Beaminster for years. My great-grandparents lived here so it was nice to stop by.. I have never eaten such stunning food and I have travelled all over the world. The 2 course lunch was 25pp but you pay for what you get. The mackerel was stunning. The leek and potato soup was beautiful. Both of us had the beef which was succulent served with channtenay carrots parsnips and roast potatoes. The horseradish sauce complimented this. Complimentary homemade sourdough bread was provided. The staff were friendly, conscientious and professional at all times. A real credit to Beaminster. Definitely recommend and I would visit again without hesitation!

We stayed 2 nights at this beautiful hotel full of character and which provided a superb standard of accommodation. The rooms were tastefully decorated, warm and very comfortable. We ate in the candle lit restaurant both evenings, and found the quality of food, the presentation and attention to detail second to none. Breakfast was served in a delightful room overlooking the garden and was freshly cooked using local ingredients. If you enjoy good food and drink, in a warm and welcoming environment, then this is the place for you.

We bought a night at the Bridge House hotel from Secret Escapes.
Some highliights :
Arrived 3 hours before the official check-in time but were welcomed and shown to our room
Booked a standard room but got unpgraded to a delightful room with brand new TV
Bed seriously comfortable
The menu was limited (because of the deal we bought)but the food was absolutely fabulous - try the rice pudding with rhubarb sorbet if you can!
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lowlight :
Our room (room 8) was near the kitchen so we were able to hear the extractor fan. However, it didn't keep us awake and wasn't turned on early in the morning so didn't wake us either.

Just returned from a lovely couple of days at this little hotel which boasts olde-world charm with a relaxed homely feel. An abundance of friendliness from all the staff together with nicely appointed cosy rooms and exceptional food, although a little limited in choice, makes for an enjoyable short stay.

Brand new owners, Sylvana and her Head Chef Michelin * husband have taken on an established well-known little hotel which probably runs nicely like a well-oiled machine with its small army of staff but they have ideas to improve and tweak here and there various areas that need addressing and to put their own stamp on this hotel. It would be very interesting to return to witness the changes made in possibly a year or two. I think some of the areas that need addressing just from a guest perspective and what visually hits you when you arrive is the messy car park area with tatty out-buildings with old discarded equipment stored in full view, the garden area needs a winter tidy-up and possibly the main hallway being a little drab with the hotel open office sort of located in the middle with no privacy probably because there is nowhere else to put it, maybe a small rethink is needed. Also storage doors of various rooms and cupboards left open showing all manner of hotel 'stuff'. It all just adds to a slight messy relaxed feel but I am sure these things are easily rectified and Sylvana and her husband will make this lovely little hotel a great success. Congratulations to them on their new venture.

We had to reschedule our weekend due to the snow and it turned out for the best as we were lucky enough to have checked in just as the new owners Chris & Sylvana had taken over that day. We received a very warm welcome and we have no doubt from our experience that they will improve on what was already a good hotel into a better one. We stayed in room 7 which was very spacious and overlooking the garden, the bed was extremely comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space and good size bathroom with a smaller than average slipper bath but was absolutely fine for us. On the first night Chris (the chef) cooked from the previous owners menu and his take on it was excellent. On the second night there was a new menu and we both had the cauliflower soup which was exceptional and the main courses were delicious, we can’t comment on the desserts as we were too full to try them. We will definitely stay again and look forward to seeing the changes that are planned and in the meantime we wish Chris and Sylvana all the best along with the rest of the staff who were very friendly and helpful.

Room tip: Room 7, spacious and overlooks the garden
