So good I cam back the following evening. What seems a small café from the street side is actually a large concern with a second floor and, more important, a terrace with stunning views across the estuary.

I've been here a few times, sometimes just a coffee and sometimes for a lunch. The food is reasonably priced good and tasty, the service is friendly and quick. The best is to sit outside on a sunny day overlooking the river.

We dropped in to the Clipper Cafe on the off chance for lunch. It was a half term Friday afternoon and fairly but not overly busy. We waited over 40 mins for a cheese, bacon and mushroom panini with some fries. We assumed we’d been forgotten but it eventually arrived. It was the wrong panini, being Brie, cranberry and bacon, but we were hungry and thought we’d just eat it. The panini was over cooked and contained pretty much ‘zero’ Brie and 1 smallish piece of bacon. The skin on fries were over cooked and too greasy. The Clipper cafe is in a lovely setting and they charge premium prices. They need to keep an eye on their standards as they were definitely sub par. It has been good in the past so hopefully this is just a blip. That said the staff were polite and pleasant.
