“Relax and unwind….”
Reviewed 5 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The Old Shippon was very well presented and very clean. The complimentary foodstuffs/coffee on arrival plus the soft fluffy towels and toiletries were quality touches typical of 5* accommodation - bath toys were an added bonus! :)

Being very spacious you can easily get everything comfortably organised and with a lovely open fire there is no loss of cosiness. Comfortable beds and easy access/parking all make things easier, especially when lugging in all of a child's paraphernalia.

There are a lot of well thought out helpful extras including maps, binoculars and a compass for spontaneous walkers. Easy connectivity to the Hi-Fi & very efficient Wi-Fi are an ample substitute for the television if needed.

As part of a developing vision at Kellymill.uk The Old Shippon will soon be nestled in restful well groomed gardens which will no doubt add even greater charm. We didn’t stride out very much bar a country walk which from the doorstep had us in open undisturbed countryside in minutes - very refreshing! Our little one loved the horses in the nearby fields.

The Old Shippon is a perfect place to do something or do nothing, a place to be entertained by your imagination and the natural beauty around you.

“Beautiful rural retreat”
Reviewed 28 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

I was apprehensive about this holiday as it was our first time away with our four month old baby. The cottage however was fantastic and the owners were so welcoming- a roaring fire on arrival, saffron buns, cider, good coffee, quality bed linen, 'faith in nature' bath products and even bath toys for our little one. A travel cot was offered but we didn't require it. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed many home cooked meals with ingredients bought from a really good nearby farm shop. The cottage and its surrounding are beautiful and we really loved having some quality time as a family in this rural retreat. Lots to do nearby too - great location for exploring both the north coast and the moors.

“Ideal place to relax”
Reviewed 26 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The Shippon, With its relaxing silence and beautiful warm character, is as charming as it is welcoming. I felt totally at home there. The large open fire was at times enticing. I loved the open plan bedroom with balcony overlooking the lounge. The cottage was very well equipped with all the essentials needed to make your holiday comfortable. The peace and quiet inside and outside was just what we needed and we got it in abundance.
A wonderful retreat and then some.
Returning in the warmer months will give us more opportunity to take in the lovely location, especially when walking from the cottage.
