Nice accessible walk along the river and we popped into the Inn for some bowls of chips, one sausage and chips for the kids and three cream tea. The food was lovely, a was the ambience. Prices what you would expect from a tourist place. We were not planning on eating there, but it was so nice that we stayed.

Stopped in after a snowy walk along the river and it was lovely. Great setting and perfect service with excellent value tasty food. Both of us had filled focaccia which came with crisps and we order jacket on fries, also delicious. Great that we could bring in our dogs as well. We loved it

Our annual visit never disappoints. Service is always excellent and the rooms very comfortable.
Food and drink are the reason to go there (as well as the stunning scenery).
We had Scallops to start, beautifully plump.
For main we had the Sirloin Steak, cooked to perfection and full of flavour.
We will be back next year.

We had a drink here a few years back and picked up a leaflet on the rooms and said we would go back and stay so this was the weekend!

We were hoping for lovely open fires and lounging around on comfy sofa's but, it turns out, the fires are gas 'wood-burning stoves' and the bar has all tables albeit with character because it is what looked like the old stables.

The room was clean and comfortable with some lovely cotton bedding and towels and the hot water for the bath was almost too hot! There is real coffee and milk in the room with bottles of water in the mini fridge and some lovely cookies. The downside is the soundproofing is not great, particularly when the neighbours or room above flush the loo.

Our evening meal in the restaurant was tasty overall with some lovely steak, pheasant and partridge and the full English in the morning was excellent.

The location is lovely with views over the river and Tarr Steps and it is a really peaceful with very little traffic and the staff were all very friendly and helpful but this, sadly, wasn't as good as we had hoped and expected given its awards and 5 Star rating - really sorry!

Had lunch here on a second attempt, nice country pub, good selection of beers and some nice quirky touches decor wise. Ordered some burgers and fries as they looked delicious as they were coming from the kitchen Also ordered a steak sandwich. The burgers themselves are distinctly average, bought in not homemade although the additions of better quality bread and cheese etc were ok. The steak in the sandwich was tough. Sadly disappointed sorry to say because the staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. Notice that our visit was on the same day as “livergate”, maybe there were some background problems in the kitchen? Will give it another go as the place does have some good ratings.
