Our drinks were lovely, and we really enjoyed them. We liked that they were good value for money (about two pounds each). The setting was lovely, very tranquil and fascinating. It was lovely to see the owner is also an artist and understands the importance of macrobiotic diets, and other dietary needs, which was reflected in the array of cakes this place had on offer. I'm having to downgrade this review from five stars to four for two specific reasons. The first is the twenty five minute wait we had for our drinks to arrive, when the setting was empty bar a group of ladies sitting next to me and my relatives. The second was the attitude of the young waitress, she couldn't have looked more unhappy and looked like she didn't want to be there, as well as seeming quite fumbling when she was asked for extra milk or if the vegan cakes were gluten free, or even for recommendations on the area. That being said, we've all agreed we'd love to return here to experience that peace and quiet you present so flawlessly.

This cafe/gallery was so much better than expected. A modest exterior opens out into a light spacious interior that has intimate nooks for a quiet cuppa, sofas to relax on and more formal tables to eat a full meal - all surrounded by the most vibrant artwork of colourful seascapes. The food was excellent, beautifully prepared and tasty and the staff friendly and helpful. I don’t normally bother with cake/pudding but didn’t regret choosing a superb chocolate/almond cake to finish with. Definitely one to go back to!

Yes, there are many cafes in Dawlish and yes a lot of them are very good but none of them live up to the ambience of the Sealight Restaurant. This is a very intimate cafe, not one of those where staff don’t care about you but one where you can relax on comfy sofas in pleasant surroundings of with lovely artwork of seascapes which are for sale because this is also an art gallery. There is a lovely selection of drinks, cakes and meals AND ALL GLUTEN AND DAIRY FREE! So veggies and vegans get yourself down there and enjoy this lovely cafe, with helpful friendly staff, in our beautiful little town of Dawlish. I live here so I should know.
