“Good quality cottage in central location.”

We had been warned by the manager that we could only drop off luggage in front of the cottage and that the allocated parking space was further up the lane and a "bit tight". On arrival we just about squeezed through the archway from the high street to unload but there was no way I was going to get my medium size car up through the narrow alley to the parking space. Fortunately a permit is provided for the town car parks and I managed to find a space in one just a couple of minutes away, an experience which was not repeated when we arrived back on Saturday evening to find all the car parks full and had to park some distance away on the road.
On entering the cottage we were very impressed with the quality of the furnishing and the basket of local groceries. As you would expect from a town cottage, there is not a great deal of space and there are no wardrobes in either bedroom - just a couple of hooks on the wall - so a stay for more than a few days may be a challenge. Likewise the kitchen is only really equipped for breakfast and snacks but this is offset by a reasonable choice of pubs and takeaways in the town (the chinese almost next door is particularly good).
The garden area was further away than we anticipated from the description so, despite the weather being particularly warm, we did not feel inclined to make use of it.
Overall a comfortable and well furnished cottage ideal for a short stay in a village centre within easy striking distance of Dartmoor and the coast.

“Convenient location - clean, comfy cottage”
Reviewed 16 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Cottage in quiet lane, just off High St. Very close to 3 friendly pubs, serving good Real Ale - quiz night on Monday. Buckfastleigh may be small & quiet but has all facilities most people need - Fish & Chips, Chinese, Health/Organic Shop serving excellent coffee, chemist plus much more. Cottage was very cosy & adequately equipped. Couple of problems were quickly resolved by owner. Was a little concerned by description of parking but a Ford B Max coped with narrow space, car park permit provided was useful for our 2nd car (car parks very close by). Nearby garden by river was so peaceful, ideal for relaxing in. 'Fridge freezer' was misleading it was a fridge with freezer box, so don't take lots of frozen food! It is a cottage so stairs are quite steep. Welcome pack - lovely loaf, local butter, jam/marmalade & milk.

“Cosy cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 15 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Cottage was well presented with nice finishing touches like the towel origami on the bed. Tucked away in a nice location. Took two small dogs and one downside was that garden was not attached to the cottage, but not a real problem. 10 second walk to local town shops and short drive to Totnes . Owner was very attentive and amenable if you needed anything. Really great stay there overall.

Liked best: Nice well kept property in good location, nice owner

“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed 29 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Just back from a great few days in this beautiful cottage.
Great location with easy access to Dartmoor, Totnes, even relatively close to Teignmouth and Shaldon.
The bed was very comfortable and perfect for falling into after an evening of sitting in front of the woodburner.
The owner was very helpful, quickly responding to our queries about fire wood!
Would definitely come back again.
