“Perfect, Perfect, PERFECT!”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We have just spent a lovely, relaxing and very peaceful 5 days at The Mill on Lurcombe Farm in Bickington, on the edge of Dartmoor Natioanl Park. We were very warmly welcomed by Nick and the 3 lovely dogs.

The cottage is beautiful, with absolutely everything you might need in a home away from home. We felt so comfortable from the minute we settled in.

The rooms are all very spacious and stylishly decorated. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into making the cottage such a warm and comfortable place - DVDs, games, magazine, maps, local info and even milk, eggs, herbs and a bottle of wine to welcome us!

Nick was very helpful with anything we needed - giving us some great tips about what to do and where to go in the local area. The location of the cottage was a great base to visit many places and sights. We visited Haytor - great views of the moors, Totnes and Ashburton – lovely market towns with lots of lovely independent shops, Buckfast Abbey, Salcombe and Widdecombe in the Moor – the drive through Dartmoor and the first view of Widdecombe it is stunning.

Overall, it was the perfect stay. Thank you ☺

“*Perfection*”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Dan and I have just returned from the most perfect weekend stay at The Mill! We stayed for two nights (11-13th July, 2014) and the whole time was absolutely incredible! The weather was glorious and Lurcombe was quite simply stunning. Pictures do not justify how special The Mill cottage actually is. The living room/kitchen was immaculate, with the extra special touches of fresh milk, eggs (from Nick and Sarah's chickens) and of course, a bottle of bubbles! The added details of photographs, wooden features, including the beams and exposed brickwork combined with the cleanliness were overwhelming! The bedroom was very special. A huge luxurious bed, with plenty of storage and the most gorgeous little window that opened behind the headboard in order to further appreciate the spectacular views. We were surrounded by green fields and perfection!
Nick and Sarah were incredibly kind and particularly helpful, advising us on key places to visit/restaurants to dine at to ensure our stay was as special as possible. Dan and I decided to stay and cook at The Mill, on both nights as there were utensils, plates and glasses readily available. To be honest, why would you want to stray too far for The Mill? As the property is towards the edge of Dartmoor National Park, travelling to Dartmoor was very easy. One of the nearest supermarkets (Asda) was a short ten minute journey away. Ideal!
Walks around the grounds of The Mill were stunning! What added to this were the three most pleasant dogs ever; Holly, Pumpkin and Scruff joining us on our journeys. Absolutely delightful! The Pond House was a wonderful addition too, including the radio!
The Mill was perfection, as was Nick and Sarah's hospitality! It was incredibly difficult for us both to leave as Dan and I had a truly wonderful and a very relaxing weekend break. We cannot wait to return!
Thank you,
Sophie and Dan

The Mill was spacious the photos don't do it justice the idyllic surroundings, the interior design was of the best standard, the warm welcome from Sarah and Nick was so warming and we felt it was home from home, The lovely little gesture of the wine and fresh eggs tea coffee and milk so welcoming after our long journey. lovely walks around the grounds so nice to do and have the dogs guide you to where you can go, so loving and friendly. The Pool hut was lovely and its so special that its been put their out of love. Great place to watch the ducks and sit quietly and watch what they can get up to. Lots of things to visit around their and plenty to do would highly recommend it. A very big Thank you for making our weekend so special.
