This cottage has charm and appeal and is in a good location to walk the Brixham area. Restuarants ,supermarkets within an easy walk.
The cottage has a good feel to it. You have a cosy living area with fire place and comfortable chairs to watch television. If it had of been little colder I would have gone out and purchased fire wood.
The kitchen was well appointed, our stay was only 4 nights and we ate out 3 nights.
Had breakfast in.
Bathroom and toilet is off the kitchen, shower is good size with good hot water.
Bath room overall is small.( arkward to dry yourself after showering.
Bedrooms upstairs are accessed via spiral stairs , These stairs would be a issue to anyone with mobility issue. Bed was very comfortable.
We missed having WIFI.
Found a small bakery on Middle road about 3 minutes from the cottage very good coffee and other goodies( sells out early)
There is paid parking close by, you need to get a permit for long term parking from the Torbay Council. Permits are done on line but we were unable to log in . We resorted to phoning the council and after several attempts got through. They couldn't really help us, we drove to the council chambers to Torbay in an effort for help.
The council help desk is part of the library, they tried their best to help but still no result We used their phone to ring the parking section at council again, eventually got through, after much talk we were told the Harbour Masters office in Paington may have some old permits they may be able to issue. Off to Paignton we went, it was here we finally got a permit to park. The above took about 5 hours
Don't let the above put you off.( Just do your parking home work before you arrive)
We are from Austrailia might be easier if you live in the UK.
Enjoyed Brixham and this cottage.
Lovely cottage with everything you need and was clean and cosy. It is also located just up from the harbour, meaning everything was in walking distance which was great.
There was also good communication from the owner with a lot of helpful information too.
We came down for the Pirate Festival and had a great time. I would definitely book this cottage again and would be happy to recommend to others.
Such a welcoming, cozy cottage and felt so homely we didn't want to leave. Plenty of items in the cottage, meaning that all eventualities were catered for. Bedlinen was of super quality and beds were very comfortable. Didn't need to use the wood burner, but it was a beautiful addition to the living area.
The cottage is perfectly situated and very quiet - considering only a five minute walk down to the harbour.
Once I understood the geography of the narrow streets around, I found it very easy to navigate in and out of Brixham when driving. After a short walk around the area, to familiarise, we found it quite easy to get a parking space and usually parked on Vicarage Hill a short walk away.
The owners are lovely and communication was great. They gave lots of information before our arrival, so that we were prepared for our stay.
Would highly recommend!
Seabird cottage is a must for a base, whether you want to stay around Brixham area, or travel to the many surrounding areas. It is a beautiful home to return to after a busy day.
We will be very happy to return.
We wanted a cottage by the sea with a fire and nice walks.
Seabird Cottage gave us the perfect base for a great 6 days over Xmas and new year.
