Great comfortable house to accommodate all the family so everyone has their own ensuite bedroom. The communal rooms are large enough for everyone to cook/dine together & the basement is a real bonus. The kitchen has everything you need & more. Sheets/towels were good quality. Perfect location for all Brixham has to offer with some great views over the bay. Highly recommend for large groups.
The house was wonderful. Plenty of room for the lot of us ( varied between 15 and 18, with five children, Age ranging from 5 weeks to 74 years. The nine en suite bedrooms were able to accommodate everyone's wishes. The kitchen arrangements were excellent with a fabulous professional grade dish washer. The garden got much use from the children particularly, with badminton and deck darts available. I had rented a car for the stay but really did not need it - and the traffic over the peak holiday season can be somewhat intimidating for us Americans. There's lots to do and see in Brixham , the harbor is a few hundred yards away, and the various boat trips available allow a pleasant way to visit other sites. Day sailing on the Vigilance and a sail on a local Moody 32 were highlights for me. The local Museums offer fascinating glimpses into the past, and the walks up to Berry Head and elsewhere offer wonderful views. Richard and Moira were great hosts, and easily available to help and answer questions. In summary excellent flexible facilities, great location, ideal for family reunions. Highly recommended.
The house was perfect. I invited friends from across the years and it was a really easy place for people to mix and get to know each other.
Everything was of top quality, I especially liked the large table in the dining room which meant we could all sit together for some of the meals.
The location is great as you can look across to Torquay (weather permitting!) and take an easy stroll into the town in one direction or a more serious cliff walk in Berry head country park in the other direction.
The carvery on the Marina is just a 5 minute walk and ideal for 14 hungry guests on a Sunday night.
Also the owners live close by so are on hand if there are any problems (we had none).
All in all it was my best birthday ever!

Amazing location with all you need inside to have a enjoyable break. Everything is supplied in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms.
Richard and Moira are welcoming and helpful on arrival. Nothing too much trouble. If the sun is out it's the harbours and beaches. However if it rains it's got plenty of large socual areas in the kitchen, lounge and dining room.
Jewel in the crowd is the low level large cellar bar where you can be as noisy as you like without disturbing the early to bed people.
As a family we live all over the UK & France so, we needed a house big enough to take us all for a family wedding in Brixham & a 60th birthday celebration, Ranscombe House was perfect with plenty of room for us all. The table in the dining area was big enough to seat 18 with comfort and the dishwasher (I want one) was wonderful, it only took two minutes to do a load. The only downside was having to leave on the Sunday morning, if we had known what to expect beforehand we would have stayed longer. The owner Richard was lovely and on hand if needed, not that we did but it's a comfort to know help is not far away. If your looking for lovely surroundings and excellent value for money then, Ranscombe House is the one for you.
