We have just returned from 4 nights at the Merton and had a great time. The hotel is very nice, we had a lovely room on the top floor overlooking the gardens. The staff were excellent and provided great customer service. The main restaurant was buffet service but you could always find something to eat due to the variety of food offered, quality of food very good. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the cente via the park and is a nice walk.

The hotel also gave us a bottle of champagne for our wedding anniversary which was a surprise but very much appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Jersey.

Room tip: Rooms at the back are quit

Easy walking distance to St Helier centre through Howard Davies Gardens. Attractions also nearby. Swimming pools clean and heated, plenty of sun beds and pretty border gardens. Free parking which is brilliant and we never struggled to park up. Good in house restaurants and friendly bars. Pleasant entertainment and a games room. The bedroom was clean and comfortable with ample storage space. TV provided and free wifi in hotel and its grounds. We also hired a fridge for our room very cheaply. Bedroom fan, hairdryer, iron and board provided free of charge. The porters were very helpful and polite and reception staff are really helpful. Restaurant staff polite and efficient too. Overall a great value hotel. We would definitely stay there again. Great value for money. ✳️✳️✳️✳️

Room tip: Best view would be rooms on floors 3 & 4 garden facing.

Rooms were comfortable staff very helpful & food was excelent.Wifi free but only for an hour a day - plenty for our useage. Pool area was lovely & clean but water a bit on cool side & jacuzzi needed to be warmer but steam room great after long day out. Great base for cycling safe storage under cover next door to hotel. Hired bikes from Zebra hire, would also highly recommend service from them.Fab holiday will certainly repeat it.

Room tip: great deals including complimentary half board if stay over 4 nights. Higher floors have great sea views

The Merton hotel is superb, we would recommend going half board as we only went Bed and breakfast as we're unsure of the quality of the food but once we sampled the vast breakfast we knew we should of gone half board.
The hotel is a little dated in places but it's very clean and the staff are hard working and attentive, it is about 10-15 mins walk from St hellier centre but is a little hilly, there is a large car park at the hotel and we never moved the car all the time we were there as the bus service is excellent, £2.00 anywhere on the island or £1.50 for short journeys. We will definitely be back (half board)
We would recommend doing the round the island tour but we're disappointed with the war tunnels which were too busy and not very well organised.

I can't really add much to my previous comments about the Merton and the politeness and friendliness of the staff - from Peter in the morning at breakfast to Andrew in the bar in the evening.

We stay at this hotel at every opportunity that my work allows and consider this hotel our home from home.

Great value, whether flying or playing Russian roulette on the Condor ferry, and can't wait to get back there again, returning this week.
