If staying on the island, we always try and use different hotels for our birthdays.

La Place is, quite simply, stunning.

From the initial booking process undertaken with the timeless patience of Karina, Alina and Bogdan to the courteous, amusing and professional staff in the restaurant/bars (I can't recall names, sorry) we were felt so welcome, as they really came accross as if they appreciated our custom and weren't simply "doing their job" - I do find this rare these days.

Our room, a Deluxe, overlooked the small rear courtyard and was of a very good size, recently decorated, with a massive bed, and huge bathroom that had a wonderful walk-in dual-height shower and a bath that could easily have a diving board attached to it - so, so deep!

For non-locals, an easy stroll down to St Aubin with its plethora of fine restaurants and bars - with us choosing lunch at The Old Court House (Bergerac, if you are old enough!) , very nice chancre crab sandwich washed down with a glass of chilled wine.

Back at the hotel, we had our complimenatary glasses of sparkling wine by the pool. Karina even made the effort to notice that we'd returned from lunch and hadn't asked for these and personally came poolside, asked if we would like them and brought them out - customer service in the extreme!

Come early evening, dinner was, as expected by the time we'd spent at the hotel, faultless along with breakfast the following morning.

I really find anything to criticise La Place in areas of customer service, general hospitality and friendliness, accommodation and the quality of the quisine within the restaurant.

Back for lunch in early April and will also return in June for our anniversary. - although as so good I may well not be able to make a reservation for our preferred room.

Do not hesitate - book it!

Room tip: If going for a deluxe, ask for #222

I booked the hotel as it is close to the airport. This was a very lucky find.
On arrival you are met with a very friendly, professional receptionist.
The hotel maintains that throughout.
The restaurant food and staff was excellent.
I would recommend a stay.

Stayed at La Place for one night as a treat for my mum for Mother's day. The staff were very friendly, the room was beautiful and all areas were fresh and clean. The décor throughout the hotel was stunning with a lovely dining room. The food was very good both in the evening and at breakfast. Great base for walks and has a pool for use on hot summer days. A real treat to stay at this hotel.

Having been given a Jersey voucher for Christmas to be used at Hotel La Place, we arrived at about 5.30pm, greeted by receptionist with a great smile who booked us in and then took us to the bar for a welcome glass of bubbly. We were taken up to our bedroom where our luggage awaited us. Well appointed large bedroom with seating area and bathroom with a lovely walk in shower. Very good choices on the main menu. Restaurant Manager and waitress were most pleasant and service was second to none, the food was a joy to the taste buds. The breakfast was a vast buffet style or full English. All the staff we met seemed to be happy in their work and gave the hotel a great atmosphere. We would certainly do this again

Well what an evening, from canapés and champagne or cocktails on arrival, with fantastic themed vases filled with ostrich feathers ! The buffet was fantastic, and the most fab group 70's music, wonderful harmonies. Stayed overnight, and even managed to take our little doggy friend with us. Mothers day cooked breakfast, felt as if we had been away for a long weekend, Bliss !!
