We stayed in this property for the half term week in February. The weather was cold and wet but we were greeted with a warm welcome by the owner and lovely fire.
There was my family and parent in laws staying and we had a very comfortable week despite the inclement weather.
The view from the master bedroom was fantastic, although we opted for the en-suite double.
The property was well equipped, clean and warm. The front garden I open to a busy road, but there was plenty of space in the enclosed back patio area to enjoy the views and relax with a glass of red (when the weather permits).
The owners were very friendly providing us with hits and tips for places to go. Spiddal is a lovely village with plenty of little shops, eating pubs, and take aways. Galway is only 15-20min drive too.
All in all, a great house which offers all the modern comforts you would need for a week or two. The road is close, but it didn't detract from our holiday and there was plenty of space for the kids to "mess about" outside safely.
Stayed in this property for a week with my 3 children and small dog. The property is actually a chalet, the picture is deceiving as it looks like the property is on it's own... It's actually a converted garage next to the main house. The property is spacious and has 4 good size bedrooms, it's ideal if you're using it as a base for travelling Connemara. Its not ideal for children as there is no garden only a patio which you have to access through the front door which is on a very busy and dangerous road, we had a dog with us aswell so not ideal for him as you had to put him on a lead. It's a 25 minute walk to Spiddal where there are plenty of pubs with traditional Irish music playing. Also worth visiting Gibleys for a meal. There is a lovely private beach 2 mins drive from this property which is worth a visit. The property is clean and there is a slightly damp smell in downstairs bedrooms. The property owners were lovely people very friendly and helpful.
