We recently visited Inishmore as part of a Rick Steves tour which included a guided bus tour of the island with Aran Bus Tours. Rory was our guide and was upbeat, pleasant and informative. We had plenty of time to visit the "must see" Dun Aonghasa, the prehistoric hill fort that lies at the edge of a 100 meter cliff. We also stopped at a cemetery for a wander around. The bus was clean and comfortable. It was a great way to see the island.
I have to give a huge thank you to Oliver, the owner of the company. I left my daypack in a restaurant near the port and didn't realize it until I was on the ferry. Our tour guide contacted Oliver and he made a search through the town to locate it since I had no idea of where I had left it. In the meantime, Bayview Restaurant was trying to reach me through my library card, calling my local library in the USA. Yesterday the pack arrived safe and sound in the mail with EVERYTHING!! in it, including a fair amount of cash, prescription glasses and headphones. What a wonderful island of caring and honest folks. Much thanks to all involved.
