As we have traveled along I-40 and seen signs for Loretta Lynn"s restaurant, but have never stopped, we thought we would give it a try. We were there right at lunch time. I was surprised when we arrived that there weren't that many cars as it was right at noon. We got the buffet for $10.95 as a regular entree and 3 sides was for the same price. The selection was VERY limited. They only had fried chicken and roast pulled pork for meats. The chicken was just ok and the pork had no flavor (I expected it to have a smokey taste or something!). I had mashed potatoes and gravy, turnip greens, boiled cabbage, and slaw. The potatoes were ok, nothing great. Turnip greens and slaw were decent, but again the cabbage had no flavoring at all! The salad bar was very skimpy and the items offered didn't look appetizing. No dessert on the bar except for red jello and vanilla pudding (not the kind with cookies, just a bowl of pudding. The price did not include a drink. I would not have thought that $11 for a lunch buffet was too high had the food been good, but it was really bland, not at all what you would expect for some "down home cookin". After eating there, we actually thought we would have done better at the McDonald's next door! Ugh! The gift shop was ok. Lots of items which have your name on them if you want that. Needless to say, we will not be back.
