Take a tour and learn about Amish culture. So much to see and learn, it's fun for all ages! There are two Amish Welcome Centers located next to each other, but tickets to the Museum are ONLY available here! Don't forget to check out our family owned and operated Gift Shop located inside the Amish Heritage Welcome Center! We only sell quality Amish handcrafted furniture, quilts, baskets, soaps, leather goods and more! All on consignment by local Amish. No garage sale items, or flea market junk here! I have been traveling to Ethridge, Tn for 20 years now but this is the first time I took the wagon tour. A grandchild begged and begged so we decided to give it a try. I feel like it was worth the money to do it. I learned so much on this tour. The guide stopped at only certain houses but offered to stop where we wanted as long as he was not held up too long. My granddaughter begged to do it again.

We are leaving in the morning for another weekend there. We ordered some rocking chairs that should be done soon. We are checking on them. These people do beautiful work!

My family & I visited Ethridge, TN for the first time on this trip & stopped at this welcome center. The staff was friendly and we took the $10 wagon tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour & the guide/driver was very knowledgeable about the Amish of this area. He has been giving tours for 23 years here, and he said that some of the families he visits on his tours were kids when he started giving tours and now they have their own families, so he knows them very well. We stopped at 4 homes where you can buy items like baskets (they're gorgeous!), candies, cookies, fried pies, produce, wooden toys, plants, and furniture to name a few. We visited a furniture workshop where he gave us a tour. The furniture was just beautiful. We picked up a map at the welcome center to drive around on our own when we returned from the wagon tour which lasted about 1 1/2 hrs. We didn't buy anything at the welcome center because they didn't have many real Amish-made items; we preferred to buy items directly from the Amish.

Nobody cares about cleanliness or real effort here. The store folks are not at all friendly to you if they don't like your face or if they think you are an 'arrogant' outsider. Grab a map, like some here have said, and go visit the Amish farms by yourself. Very interesting area, some interesting items to be had, but don't go into this center here. And that poor poor horse tied out front all day - just want to set him free!

We decided to make a day trip up to Eldridge to check out the various Amish crafts. Don't waste your time with this one. No much effort has been put into making this a place you would want to shop.
