I stopped at the Crossville location of Shoney's on my way up to Vermont, where I am relocating. I had stayed at the Executive Inn across the road, the night before, and unfortunately my cell phone alarm was set on mute, which I did not realize, and I did not hear it go off. Therefore, I slept later than expected and did not get out until 11:30 am. The Waffle Shop up the road was full, with no parking spaces in the lot, so I ended up turning around and going back to Shoney's. I found out from the waitress that although the menu says they only serve breakfast till 11 am, it is extended until 1:00 pm on Saturdays. I ordered coffee, and the breakfast item which includes eggs (I said I wanted my 2 eggs scrambled), breakfast potatoes and bacon and a biscuit. I waited at least 40 minutes for my food. When I got it the eggs were lukewarm and were not scrambled; they were cooked "over easy" and there was no bacon, only sausage patties which were so salty I could only take one bite. When I told the waitress, she told me that "the cook took forever to cook your food and he didn't do anything the way you ordered" and she said it was unacceptable and I should not have to pay for it. I told her that this wasn't necessary but she insisted. When I left she was telling the manager and he said,"So are you just going to let her walk out of here without paying?" I told him who I was and what had happened and that I very much appreciated the fact that they understood that this food was not as I ordered. I would never eat at this location again. It is overpriced and the management is awful. The waitress was a saint.
