Description: "The Firehouse," as it is called by locals, is one of Rapid City's unique and interesting landmarks. -Housed within the original firehouse, a structure built of four layer brick in 1915, the building is listed on the National Historic Register. We offer a full service restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor dining. Experience a vibrant atmosphere with live entertainment by local musicians in addition to live theatre most Friday and Saturday evenings (view our website for a list of upcoming events). Of course, the Main attraction at the Firehouse is our uniquely flavored, hand crafted beers along with a menu of the Midwest's favorite dishes. With culinary selections ranging from salads and BBQ to buffalo and gumbo, there is something for everyone at the Firehouse Brewing Company.

On a trip to Rapid City, we headed to Firehouse! We enjoyed our evening there. The food, beer, and service (we sat at bar) were very good. The only knock was when we walked in, we were told our wait for a table would be 30 minutes. We looked around and saw many open tables. We headed to the bar instead and found 2 seats. I think they were short-staffed that night. Other than that small glitch, the place was very good!

The building is an old firehouse so the atmosphere definitely unique. Food was decent, as was the beer.

The place is fun to visit, they ha e done a great job with the atmosphere. We didn't eat but the food looked good and smelled delicious. They had a nice variety of brewed beers. We sat at the bar and had good service.

Good food and good beer. The beer is brewed right in the place. Food was good. Staff very friendly. A lot of firefighting memorabilia. You can eat inside or outside. They have a Winery and a gift shop. Is family friendly.

Traveling through South Dakota and there were signs for this restaurant everywhere. We drove out of the way and well off the beaten path to get there. There was no parking so we had to park and walk to the restaurant. Once we got there, we learned that there would be a 30 minute wait. It was pouring the rain and they don’t have anywhere to sit and wait inside. They do allow you to walk around their store or the winery next door. But, when a 30 minute wait turns into almost an hour it would be nice to have waiting area seating. My daughter had the kids chicken fingers, my husband had a barbecue combo of some sort, and I had the Reuben. We also ordered an artichoke dip. The food was average at best and for the quality was overpriced. We were seated upstairs which was a nice atmosphere but the waitresses had to run up and down the stairs for everything we asked for which made the wait time for requests much longer than an average restaurant.
If you are traveling through South Dakota and looking for somewhere to eat, I would not recommend wasting a couple hours or more of your time to try out this restaurant.
