How nice to have such a wonderful park right across from our hotel. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Rapid City - Rushmore Plaza

We stayed at the Holiday Inn - Mt. Rushmore which is on the east side of Memorial Park. We went through the park when we walked downtown to the Main St. area. It's about a two block walk and going through Memorial Park which made the stroll very pleasant. There is a pretty little pond that allows fishing and a playground area. There are also some plaques honoring citizens of Rapid City who served our country in the military. The park also has a small band shell with a large seating area on the lawn. I would guess would be used for some types of concerts or programs. The park is open at night and is well lit which gives you a good sense of security. On the days we walked through the park we saw a good number of people taking advantage of the nice weather. It did seem like a good place to spend some time enjoying the outdoors.

We come down here to walk our dog and admire the scenery. They did an excellent job with this park, fountains, on the creek, very peaceful and beautiful.

This is where the Berlin Exhibit is located. A beautiful park with many people walking and biking. Dog friendly also.

There is a little of everything here, though it is not really a children's park. Lots of room to walk and run so be prepared to stretch your legs. Nice pond with ducks and geese.
