We had a fabulous time at La Domain. The house was perfect, large, comfortable with beautiful views from the master bedroom. With 4 teenagers the house felt plenty big enough and well appointed(wi fi available at a very modest cost for those kids!)The kitchen was great with a super bbq right outside getting all the evening sun!The gardens were were full of well tended flowers and the house was surrounded by small, well kept vin-yards.The view from the swimming pool was fantastic-rural,rolling French countryside and the evening sunsets were glorious! The children really appreciated the fabulous video collection available(for the 1 wet day we spent watching telly!)but otherwise spent hours in the fantastic, good sized pool or lounging on the sun beds.
Our hosts were friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive-it was just nice to know that they were there.
We loved our trip to Bergerac and st Emillion but our favourite town was our local ste Foy le Grande, because it was so French and un-touristy.We found the best croissants in a lovely patisserie at the end of the main street and drove there every morning because the ladies were so patient and kind as we tried to speak french!
We canoed down the Dordogne which was a great day out.
We loved the quiet, gentle, rustic feel of this part of France and will definately come back to La Domain.
Really good variety of games/activities on-site - owners had perfect balance of accessibility at all times but did not intrude on our holiday - the website pictures of view from the pool do not do it justice - WOW!
