When my family arrived we were greeted with an additional $250 holding fee for EACH of the rooms we rented. When we expressed that this information was not told to us ahead of time, We were told by staff at the front desk (I believe she is one of the managers) Ms. Jantzen (she was dry and condescending) that we were informed via the “fine print” at the bottom of our confirmation email. My brother and I both checked our individual confirmation emails and it was listed NO WHERE on our emails that this fee would be applied upon arrival. So this literally took up all of our spending money for the weekend. Our experience wasn’t all bad though. When I struggled with the snack kiosk in the middle of the night Michael from the front desk was really sweet and very helpful. He made sure I was taken care of and had a smile on his face the entire time. We also were waited on by two very sweet girls at the restaurant Captain B’s which is located in the hotel. Dee and AJ made sure our breakfast orders were done properly. Even when I was going to accept the food when it wasn’t done correctly, she refused to let me eat it and took it back to the kitchen so that I would leave happy. They were both very kind young ladies. The hotel in itself is beautiful and the ocean view rooms are amazing. The rooms were clean and the staff maintained social distancing while we were in the room.

We are sorry if the security hold was a surprise to you. That is listed on all websites used to book with us, including our own, and all agents inform our guests when booking as well. South Bay Inn and Suites is centrally located in the MB beach area. Lots to do and see in walking distance of the hotel. Great ocean view and easy access to the beach and boardwalk. Room was clean and updated. Hotel restaurant food was surprisingly good for resort food. Zuzana was our waitress this morning and she did a great job. Only complaints are the bed mattress was hard and the water pressure in the shower was bad. I would stay here again in the future.

Room:
I did a queen suite with mini kitchen and oceanview, When I sat on the balcony in the evening - It felt I was in a movie with golden light on the ocean.
Room was given coffee machine, phone and internet. Bathrooms were clean and Beds were comfortable, They provided extra blankets for the kids. Sitting area is good size and they have a nice dining area in the middle.
TV is modern streaming one where you can use your own netflix ID to watch shows etc.

Waterpark: great fund for kids with heated pools and lazy river, couple of slides as well. There is a bar also which is a plus plus.

Lobby area has a restaurant and bar with breakfast, lunch and dinner services.

Room service is also there with added money.

Room tip: choose oceanfront suite with kitchenette.

Everything about our stay was excellent. Ocean front room was fantastic! The balcony was great. Clean and comfortable room. We were on the 14th floor and the water pressure in the shower head could have been better but we never called about it.

The concierge was a little aggressive trying to sell us time share stuff while standing in the line to check in which took for ever. They had one person working the front desk with 5 people standing in line trying to check in. We waited over half an hour just to get the keys to the room while being non stop sold on time shares. Made no sense. Other than that the room was fine and it’s a great view. The air conditioner doesn’t work well and I was burning up all night even after setting the temp as low as we possibly could at 65°. That’s the lowest it would set. But it only cooled the area closest to the balcony not the entire room. Also they tell you that the 250 dollar deposit you will get back the day you check out. Well it’s been almost a week and I still haven’t received it back.

Room tip: The offsite parking is decent but it’s a little bit of a walk to the hotel when you are carrying heavy bags it’s a little rough. Use valet!
