My husband and I happened upon the Rainbow Row while exploring Charleston. Subtle colors on the homes, quite unique.

Apparently the most photographed street in town. Short walk from White Point Garden at the southern tip of the peninsula.

It's basically a street of gorgeous homes in beautiful colors. You walk by and admire them. If you are on a tour with a guide, you will get more information about some of them. You don't have to do that though to enjoy these lovely homes.

With the colors and how they look so different at different angles. The history here is amazing and so glad we walked there to see it.

Rainbow Row is a must visit when in Charleston. It's located on Bay street one block west of the Riverfront and a few blocks north of the Battery. It's a series of historical two and three story homes so close to one another that they look like a row of town homes. Some are actually connected, while others are separated by tiny gated walkways. Each home is painted in a different light pastel color (yellow, pink, mint, etc.).

These are not homes that you tour. Instead, you visit them as you would a park. As a part of your visit to Charleston, you should plan a day to do nothing but walk the old homes down on the tip of the peninsula. Pair this row of houses with your walk. You will want to take nice pictures of the house as well as friends and families. Wear something light and nice to get great postcard shots. I also recommend going a bit further south to see The Battery and White Gardens at the tip.
