Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

I had the flounder sandwich. It was rather bland tasting, although the aioli sauce helped. I also had the fried green tomatoes. The condiments along with tomatoes were incredibly flavorful. I recommend it. While the staff was great, in general, our server wasn't. She was frequently inattentive. She was only attentive toward the end of the meal after we had to repeat a request again and she was worried we might say something to management. That is what made a potentially great time go wrong for us.

I still might give it another try, just with someone else.

PS: there was a waiter next to us who was awesome! He was so knowledge about oysters and also took excellent care of his table. We leaned at times to hear what he was teaching his table. Super cool!

Can't go wrong with Amen. The server Linsey was the best. Had the oysters. The horseradish was a nose clearer, loved it. The crab cakes were excellent. The grouper was cooked perfectly. We would advise reservations if you don't want to wait. Will return.

Great little place. Friendly staff. If you like fish you might love this place. Loud in there so if you are hard of hearing like me ask for a table away from the oyster bar. We had the filet. It was good. Didn't like the potatoes that came with it or under it. My husband had the Caesar salad and said it was very good. My sister had the salmon said it was ok. Wasn't a good choice for us for our last night in this charming town.
