We took a tour that took people to White Haven Pennsylvania so they could tide there bikes back. The ride was great going there as you see the lay of the land and get some history about the area. Only bad thing was coming back we had to wait for other train to take it's trip. We was supposed to be back by 3. It was after 4 by time got off the train. Couldn't tour the jail or mansion like we wanted.

We drove up into the mountains looking for something to do that was dog friendly. We bought tickets for the open air car, although there were enclosed cars as well. The 70 minute train ride had great scenery and gave a historical perspective of the area. We rode on the last day of the diesel electric locomotive. They were prepping the steam train to start the next day. Plenty to see and do in Jim Thorpe making it a great day trip destination.

Not much to see. Not scenic at all. It was a very boring 70 minutes. Trees and a stream is all we saw. Nothing like they describe on their site. It would be a good ride if you have kids who like trains.

I loved this idea. It was a pleasant ride. However, I was waiting with camera in hand for something to take a picture of and there just wasn't anything. The scenery is pretty much unchanging and not much to see. Even an animal would have counted as something but there was nothing.

Three trips per day (Thu-Sun). Try to sit in the open-air car (extra charge) and change sides of the car at the turn-around point (as the locomotive moves from one end to the other). Scenic views of the upper Lehigh River; probably particularly great in the fall as the leaves change. The railroad parallels a rail-to-trail so you get to see hikers and bikers as well. Nothing stupendous about the view, but it was a pleasant 70-minute ride. OK to park in the rail station’s parking lot if you put in 4 quarters for 2 hours (otherwise you’ll probably get a ticket, as did the car next to us). When we were there, there was a vendor from Scranton selling delicious baked goods outdid the station (we partook in a cannoli and a lobster tail pastry).
