Ah grandparents we are always on call. Our son and family moved up to Cairns earlier this year to escape the madness of Sydney and the government's passion for high rise. However, a wedding on the south coast saw them travel down on a recent weekend. We heeded the call to baby sit for a couple of days and my son arranged adjoining rooms in the Mercure at Gerringong. The hotel is located just a 2 minutes drive from Gerringong township and the same to the beach. It is a 15 minute drive to, the iconic town, Berry. Always a great place to spend a few hours. The hotel itself was excellent and the rooms very spacious and well appointed. The hotel has a restaurant which serves breakfast and dinner. We were booked to have dinner on the Saturday night but the 6 month old granddaughter was missing her mum and we decided to eat in. The menu was the same as the dinning room and the Pan Roasted Chicken and Pork Cutlet were excellent. Breakfast was continental or full and we opted for the continental which was par for the light option. There is a great pool which has a children's wading pool and a small playground for the ankle biters. Friendly staff and a good option if you are down that way.

Room tip: All the rooms were similarly place.

We had a very comfortable stay. the staff looked after us as we neefed a quick dinner before attending a local event. The staff were very efficient supplying good service and a nice meal. Recommend a stay here.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere - beach and shops are not in close walking distance. Had dinner in the hotel as it was too far and too cold to walk or drive elsewhere. Bar and restaurant reminded me of Faulty Towers. Staff are not prepared, pouring wrong wine, opening beer bottles and a quarter if it froths out, cant multi task, charging wrong amount, side dish ordered didnt turn up for dinner. Couldnt provide a tax invoice to me on check out so was to be emailed to me - still waiting. Would not stay here again and would not recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Werri beach is a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk from our property. The township of Gerringong is a 4 minute drive or 20 minute walk. At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. My sister and I recently stayed as part of a spa package. The package itself was quite expensive and the quality of the spa service and refreshments was not as expected when paying that price. We had planned on staying in and getting room service, but on calling at 7pm (on a Sat night) were advised that room service had reach full capacity and was no longer available. There was no indication from the staff or on the information provided that room service was limited. In addiiton, there are signs all over the hotel asking guest to keep noise to a minimum before 9am and after 9pm, yet at 8:45am on a Sunday morning, staff were using a leaf blower for an extended period right outside our room The quality of the buffet breakfast was also not great.

We did experience a night recently where our restaurant was at full capacity, as well as an extremely high level of room service orders where we did have to turn guests away, and for that, I do apologize.

Stayed here recently whilst visiting Gerringong for a friend’s wedding. Room was clean, large lounge area. We paid $299 for the night, but disappointed that there wasn’t even complementary water in our room. Reception staff weren’t overly helpful with “selling” local activities or anything with us on check in. There would be a few little things like that that would make the stay feel worth the value we paid for one night.
