Really liked the place. The cottage was great with all the facilities. All the items for morning tea was provided but we also had brought with us. The small bed at the top of the cottage was a new experience. You can climb the ladder and sit on the top and you can see both kitchen and lounge. All the antique items were there in the louge. Really liked the place.
The beautiful cottage is surrounded by nature. It is so fascinating to see so many colourful bird just out of the window or from the terrace. The location is perfect for all attractions in the area and just a short drive to the beautiful seven mile beach. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.
We live in the heart of Sydney city. Our upstairs neighbour generally arrives home between 11pm and 12am, clacks across floorboards on high heels, runs the shower down noisy pipes and practices bocce ball juggling without improvement (or so it seems), waking our toddler every night for the last 20 months (i.e., her whole life).
So it was with joy and relief that she slept the deepest, most restful sleep she'd ever slept, in a cot in a mud brick cottage on the shores of the shoal haven river.
The cottage is well appointed with all the essentials and our host Alan an accommodating and lovely fellow. Indeed, after a mix up with our booking in July, we came to be here gratis and most grateful to our kind host.
While I appreciate this is not a hotel/motel, it is the little things that make a stay even more enjoyable and I would suggest fresh guest soaps for the bathroom and a new kitchen sponge each time, to be a pleasant and welcome touch, without breaking the bank.
Overall, it is a beautiful, quiet place with all the amenities needed and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time away from the city hustle and noise.
