We were just passing through and booked in for a one night stay. The ambience and welcome were such that we stayed for an extra night. My wife worked in Further Education as a lecturer in Catering and Hospitality for over 20 years and the staff here were better than she has met up to now. The owners were away, but they need not worry. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the food excellent. Sarah reminded us of Radar out of Mash.

Very helpful owners. Had to cancel due to accident, no charge made for changing dates even though gave less than 24hrs notice. Bed very comfortable. Having read the menu, looking forward to dinner tonight!

Would highly recommend the pie, the picture justifies itself! Great atmosphere and great service! Massive portions and a great price! Also a great selection of drinks to choose from with gins to double up for 1.75 from the gin palace!

We stayed for a couple nights on the 21st and 22nd of August with our 2 dogs,
we were made welcome straight away by Graham and Simon, both very nice guys.
we had our meals there and enjoyed very good breakfast and coffee,
our dogs were relaxed and liked all the fuss and doggy biscuits,
The pub was buzzing with many locals and guest in all its rooms and has a great atmosphere, This is a lovely building with a lot of historic characteristics.
Our room was clean, the bed comfortable and had a lovely views over the countryside.
All of the staff were friendly and we would love to come back again to The Royal Oak Inn.

Room tip: If a couple best to ask for a room with a king bed as a double is small
