“The perfect place to relax - a wonderful stay every time”
Reviewed 21 February 2012 for a stay in September 2011

Having stayed at Pond Meadow Cottage several times over the past few years we have only ever had a wonderful stay. The cottage itself is faultlessly clean, with stylish decoration, all the amenities you could require and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The cottage overlooks the small village of East Portholland, the sea and the surrounding countryside and offers two stunning coastal walks either side of the harbour. Jo and Kris, the owners, always offer a warm and friendly welcome - as does Murphy their dog! Whether your idea of the perfect evening is sitting on the beach (all of 30 seconds away) with a glass of wine watching the sun set, or observing the unfailingly humorous antics of the resident ducks and chickens from the balcony - Pond Meadow Cottage is truly the place for escapism.

“Fantastic cottage right next to sea”

We came here with 3 children and dog in the October half term. Its a great cottage - right by the sea (well 50m) and the south coast footpath. Despite atrocious weather for most of the week we were warm and cosy in the cottage. Had a great week walking the coast path (nice walk to the Ship Inn at Portloe) and on the beaches. Trips to Truro, Eden Project and Heligan all close by. Portholland is quiet at this time of year and most of the time we had the beach to ourselves. The cottage is exactly as described, well equipped, comfortable beds and bedrooms, welcoming. We'd definitely come again.

“We loved it so much, we booked for next year on our departure !”
Reviewed 14 August 2011 for a stay in July 2011

We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing stay at pond meadow.
To all parents who find holiday's as much work as being at home we recommend this.
We felt immediately relaxed and straight into the holiday, the convenience of being so close to the beach meant we could pop back for lunch, cups of tea etc. NO more making picnics in the morning and struggling to the beach as the property situated only a minute’s walk away!!!
The property itself is very well equipped and included lots of DVD's, games and a wii for the dreaded rainy days. We could not get enough of the views from the balcony and loved the character in the property. The owners, Jo and Kris are very welcoming and on hand for any advice needed. We appreciated the welcome package, fresh flowers, eggs, tea and coffee and best of all a bottle of bubbly. We are an ex-forces family and have visited many places, but pond meadow has a certain magic with the most comfortable holiday beds ever. We visited with our two daughters [one a teenager] and our dog and this holiday suited all, especially the choices of dog friendly beaches. We look forward to returning next year and many more future visits.

“Pond Meadow a home from home”
Reviewed 30 June 2011 for a stay in June 2011

Bearing in mind we had a 11 year old horse mad daughter with severe horse withdrawel symptoms for 2 weekends and a club/disco/shopping mad 14 year old grandaughter with us this was the best holiday let we have ever had. The Flemmings are lovely people, friendly, helpful & always there if you need anything. The cottage itself is beautiful both outside & in. The small homely touches like fresh flowers, bed linen, towels, a pint of milk in the fridge welcome your first day. We needed nothing more than the peace & quiet of Portholland in this beautiful cottage. We are booking again in the Den in September as well as for 2 weeks next year. A huge thankyou to the Flemmings for all their hard work making Pondmeadow so special.

“A beautiful place in a quiet corner of Cornwall”
Reviewed 20 February 2011 for a stay in May 2010

We eagerly await our third trip to Pond Meadow. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and make you feel really welcome. The cottage is comfortable and the location ideal if you have children that enjoy spending time on the beach. We always bring our bikes and have enjoyed using them but be aware, the surrounding area is quite hilly! Beautiful coastal walks that start from the front door provide opportunities to explore the surrounding area on foot. There are local attractions like the 'Lost Gardens of Heligan' to visit if the weather is less then beach ideal, and the cottage provides details of a host of delicious dining venues in the local area.
