Sadly The white horse near Calne was too far in the wrong direction for us so we decided to visit this one. We viewed it from a muddy path near Marlborough College. I don't think you can get very close to it. It was made by boys from Mr Greasley's Academy in 1804. After the school closed it went into neglect. It was restored in 1860 and again in 1873 with a new scouring of chalk. In 2001 it was cleaned up again, but by 2002 was grassing up again. Today, it looked clean enough, but it has got thinner since its fist cut.
