“beautiful position and great accomodation”
Reviewed 1 August 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The cottage was wonderful and a fantastic base for visiting the surrounding area. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and was larger than we were expecting. The garden was lovely to have a quiet drink in the sun in the evening. Bath, Westonbirt, Tetbury and Cirencester all very accessible. Great pubs in many villages locally, and The Royal Oak just 100 yards away with fantastic food and beers. We even went to see Prince William play Polo - that was a wonderful event!
All in all a great stay for the money.

Liked best: Village location with friendly pub and cat. Central location to visit Cotswolds.
Liked least: Filthy oven, shower and bath not usable unless fully fit. Access was very tight and no handles yet notices to not to hold taps or radiator and no bathmat.

Management Response
7 Jul 2016
We are so sorry to hear you had some issues with your holiday and also disappointed that you didn't contact us at the time as we could have rectified most of the issues immediately. The lights in the lounge only flicker if you dim the switch. They are energy efficient lights which flicker on low dim, but are fine on high. This has never been an issue for guests in the past but we will put a note on the switch to advise guests not to dim in future. The oven was cleaned before your arrival and we would have happily cleaned it again if you were not satisfied. The guests at the cottage following your stay did not have any issues with the oven. We will be replacing all the appliances later this year.
Regarding the bathroom, we have never had any complaints about accessibility before. We understand one of your party was on crutches. We do state that the house is not appropriate for guests with disabilities. It is clear from the house description that the shower is over the bath. Following your feedback we have replaced the small area of grout that had some mould. We thank you for your feedback and would recommend that you speak to owners during your stay in future so that minor issues can be resolved and not impact your enjoyment. Best wishes

“The ideal country cottage”
Reviewed 5 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We had 3 nights in this delightful cottage over the half term with 2 small grandchildren. The cottage is really beautiful and pretty well-equipped. It was warm and comfortable, and the owners were very helpful. There were nice touches like a pint of milk in the fridge, plus a welcome tray with a very nice cake. The village is lovely with a large duckpond and very pretty church right opposite. There is a smart village pub which serves food and looked family-friendly, but we had a take away from the pub at Didmarton. The Takeaway menu was limited, but the burgers we had were excellent. The village is located up country lanes but is pretty close to main roads leading to Bath, Bristol, etc and easy access to the M5. The draw for us was the wonderful Westonbirt Arboretum, only a couple of miles away. We also had a great day out in Weston super Mare. Another highlight was a visit to the Roman Baths in Bath, which kept the 2 children entertained for a good couple of hours. Tetbury and Malmesbury are also very near and well worth a visit.
