“Attractive rural retreat”

A pretty studio apartment, tucked away down a quiet rural lane. Close to Devizes, the Kennet and Avon Canal, Avebury World Heritage Site and Marlborough. Really enjoyed waking up to the lovely view over the paddock, across to the downs each morning. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the studio, really making the most of the space. The furnishings are high quality, well maintained and tasteful and the general 'feel' is spotlessly clean, relaxing and comfortable. The owner, Claire, was very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive - our thanks for helping to make our last couple of weeks in the UK so enjoyable.

“Well presented, warm, comfortable and friendly”
Reviewed 6 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Harepath House said; welcome as soon as you arrived. There was a generous welcome pack milk, coffee, filter coffee, tea, fresh bread, butter, conserves, half dozen eggs and orange juice. Our host, Claire was a pleasent lady and very helpfull. The kitchen was well stocked and the view over green fields was very pleasant. On the down side there was no micro wave but, I think being very new it will not be very long before there is one. Parts of the area had restricted head room which took a little geting use to.

“Friendly and Warming.”
Reviewed 13 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Claire, the owner of Harepath House, is so accommodating and friendly it was like visiting a long lost friend. The studio flat is immaculate with books and dvd's and all the facilities you need for comfort. The welcome pack is a bonus (bread, milk, eggs and butter with coffee and different teas, fruit juice and jam etc;) . Not far from Averybury and Silbury Hill and Devizes Warf for canal trips. My husband and I loved it and want to come back...what more can you ask!

“Peace and quiet”

This rental was selected as we knew the area, and knew Harepath House on it's earlier life as 3 farm cottages.

The flat has everything you need for a comfortable stay. You do have to be comfortable with a bed/sit layout, and it helps if you are not to tall if you want to work at the kitchen sink.

The bed is extremely comfortable and the peace and quiet is wonderful [Townies probably won't sleep because it is SO quiet!]

Devizes is of course the centre of the known universe, and is within 10 minutes drive. It has everything you need except M&S [ and we were all saying that 40 years ago!} There is however an M&S food shop, plenty of quaint pubs. Market day on Thursday is worth a visit, followed by lunch in the Bear.

Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to welcome you both and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, particularly as you knew the cottages from many years ago; I was so glad you were able to revisit. It was interesting for me to hear your stories about the cottages in their former life. I'm glad you appreciated the peace and quiet and found your stay restful and comfortable. I do hope you will visit again in the future - and my very best wishes to you both.

Claire was there to greet us and show us around the lovely apartment. Everything you need and a lovely touch was the welcome pack to see us through. The accommodation was spacious, very clean and with all the mod cons. Beautiful views of the fields and hills. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and within walking distance of the Avon and Kennet canal or a short drive to Devizes
