Parked in the carpark and enjoyed a bacon and tomato sandwich with a cup of tea while admiring the views. We then walked between the Cow and Calf rocks and did a circular walk of about 4 miles admiring the great views. There are many paths over the moors so you can pick your route to suit your capabilities. There was a few points where people were rock climbing.

No matter the weather and no matter how many times you visit you never tire of walking on Ilkley Moor. Lots of different paths for all fitness levels. Wonderful views.

The moor is rugged underfoot, but does not have any long steep climbs (totally different to the three peaks, for example). The ground is covered in heather, save for the tracks and trails, turning the moor a beautiful purple in late summer.

The Cow and Calf pub is a great place to park, and to eat afterwards. The majority of the other county/village pubs around the moor are also safe bets so don't feel disheartened if you can't get space on a sunny day. The Busfeild Arms in East Morton is one which I've eaten at a few times and really enjoyed.

I first visited these famous rocks about
75 years ago, so my recollection had
faded somewhat. However, as we approached
the large parking area, memories of the original
visit with my parents came flooding back, as we
saw the Cow and Calf.

The slope from the carpark to the rocks is not too
arduous and the views from the top are magnificent.
Yorkshire has some really beautiful scenery.

The first day of our visit was fairly dry and the rocks
were being used by a number of climbers, which
added to the general interest; though a cautious look
over the edge made me glad that it was somebody
else doing the climbing!

A beautiful spot with great views and the opportunity
to explore the famous Bronte countryside.

I went to Cow and Calf rocks & Moor on good weather. And enjoyed myself seeing Cow and Calf Rocks and view Moor on nice sunny day. There also little cafe with toliets and car park.
