Absolutely perfect cottage. We didn’t want to leave and we nearly didn’t due to being snowed in. Thanks to the helpfulness of the owners we managed to reluctantly leave, after Lynda trekked on foot to check the state of the roads and Stuart dug out our car and cleared the lane for us. As the cottage was free on our departure day we were encouraged to take our time checking out and they left the cottage on standby for us should we get stuck and have to turn back. Lynda and Stuart couldn’t have been more helpful during our stay and they were always available (without being intrusive) should we need them.
Located in Hebden Bridge old town. Walking distance to Hebden Bridge, and two local pubs nearby. A post office/ general store which we didn’t use but were assured that it stocks everything! Miles and miles of footpaths if you like walking. We did a 7 mile walk up and down some steep edged valleys, taking in a few lovely pubs (real ale and dog friendly) on our first day. The second day we explored Hebden Bridge - shopping, eating and drinking. Even the shops are dog friendly! We tried out the 2 local pubs both of which were cosy welcoming country pubs - the Robin Hood and the Hare and Hounds.
The cottage itself is luxurious with quality furnishings, well equipped kitchen and loads of character. Loved the personal touches like the toiletries, fresh fruit and flowers and welcome food basket (milk, butter, bread, homemade jam, biscuits, tea, coffee, fruit juice and treats for the dog).
Can highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Ps thanks Lynda for the excellent communication and flexibility of check in prior to our stay
Old Town Hall Cottage was perfect, up on the hill above Hebden Bridge. Very cosy and characterful, and lovely and warm even though the wind was howling outside! Hebden Bridge is in a beautiful setting, and full of quirky independent shops. I would definitely recommend a trip over the moors to Haworth and Bronte Parsonage Museum. The owners welcomed us personally to the cottage and there was a basket with tea, fruit, bread and home made jam and milk and butter in the fridge when we arrived. Would definitely come again!
Lynda and Stuart are the perfect hosts, personally greeting us with a friendly introduction to their lovely cottage, and much useful information about the area. This cosy cottage had everything needed to make our January short break stay so enjoyable and I'm sure it is perfect in summer too, as it lies in a wonderful position above the popular town of Hebden Bridge in the beautiful South Pennines. I wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be able to visit again soon!
I had a short stay here and would highly recommend staying. Was met on my arrival and they couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful.
The cottage is gorgeous, very comfortable and feels really homely. I would happily stay here again.
We stayed in this cottage for a short break and wished we were staying for longer! It was so comfortable, clean and homely. The owners left bread, milk, fruit, tea, coffee, biscuits etc etc for our arrival which was a welcome surprise. We couldn't have asked for more from a holiday home.
