We would like to extend a warm Yorkshire welcome to everyone visiting Old Town Hall Cottage, with the reassurance that we have your health and wellbeing in mind. We have introduced additional cleaning to our already stringent routines especially touchpoints.
We have always prided ourselves on personally welcoming our guests to explain the features of the cottage and to answer any questions about the vast range of things to do and see in the area. However, in these changed times we are now providing contactless check in but there is a manual in the cottage to provide all the information you will need during your stay and we are contactable by telephone too.
Lynda was the most superb host she left a lovely basket of goodies for us plus fresh flowers. Old Town Hall cottage is immaculately clean, warm, comfortable & homely. Excellent attention to detail in making you feel at home.

beautiful cottage, amazing views.
The cottage was lovely and very clean, there was everything you needed in there for your stay. Lynda even left us a lovely goodie bag, milk and orange juice in the fridge. The Robin Hood Inn was a great place to eat and just a short walk away. You are very close to Hepenstall and Hebden Bridge is just down the road with all its lovely cafes, pubs and canal walks. The views whilst driving are just stunning, such a relaxing place to chill out and relax for a few days. The Old Town Cottage is in a perfect location and close to buses if you prefer not to drive, it has a small seated area if you wanted to sit outside with drink and read a book plus it's dog friendly with a green just around the corner where you can easily walk your dog.

A perfect retreat for exploring the dales
The cottage was waiting for us immaculately clean and with a thoughtful welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, fruit etc. Fresh flowers also added to the welcoming, homely feel. We felt right at home in this beautiful old cottage, complete with gorgeous little sun trap patio to sit on and surrounded by Yorkshire countryside to roam in. We found some great walks right by the cottage, and also headed to Hardcastle Crags for a mapped route among the gorgeous scenery. A quick 15 minute walk takes you to the Robin Hood Inn which does excellent food, and Hebden Bridge is a short drive away, which is a lovely town with lots to see. The hosts really make sure this cottage is just as it appears online, and go above and beyond to make you feel you have chosen well! Highly recommended and we would love to return one day.

Fabulous stay
The house is extremely comfortable and has everything you need for a weeks stay. Set in a beautiful part of the country and 5 minutes drive from Hebden Bridge which has a number of restaurants and independent shops making an interesting day out. The kitchen and bathroom have recently been renovated and the welcome pack has everything you need to start you off your holiday. I would highly recommend this cottage.

A great break in a lovely place .
Old Town Hall Cottage is full of character , cosy and welcoming , with everything needed for a comfortable break . It is also convenient for public transport , and dog friendly , with great walks from the door and wonderful scenery . It is one mile into Hebden Bridge where there are lots of independent shops and cafes , including a choice of very good places to eat or have a coffee . We had two excellent lunches at the White Lion Hotel .
A ten minute bus ride from Hebden or short drive will take you up to Heptonstall , well worth a visit to see the ruins of the old church . The Towngate Tea Rooms opposite are excellent . I had the best vegan breakfast ever !
Thankyou Lynda and Stuart , for catering for our every need , including a basket of provisions , treats for our dog , and fresh flowers on arrival !
We thoroughly recommend staying here .

Excellent cottage
Old Town is a lovely and quiet village above a Hebden Bridge. My main reason for booking was that it accepted dogs and the fact that it was close to dog walking areas. I wasn’t disappointed by the walks and my dog was in his element hunting up on the moor close by. The cottage itself was very cosy and had everything needed for a comfortable and stress free holiday. Lynda had also supplied fruit, biscuits, coffe, tea, milk and even bread. Excellent.

Just what we needed
We have just returned home from a perfect visit to this lovely cottage. Lynda and Stuart have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into making this a real home from home and we really couldn't think of anything else we could want or need to make our stay any more perfect. The cottage was spotlessly clean and was decorated and furnished very tastefully with quality items. It is in a very quiet location but with two lovely pubs within easy walking distance both serving delicious food and beers, the Hare and Hounds having just won Camera's pub of the season. The bus service from Old Town was exceptional with two buses an hour into Hebden Bridge and from there frequent buses to other local attractions. We are not normally bus users but found the service easy to use with friendly drivers.
We found the local people very helpful and friendly also; met a lot of nice people.
Lots of lovely walks; dog friendly area and peaceful. Couldn't really add anything more to all the other positive reviews, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage.

The cottage is situated on an unadopted lane and there are many lovely countryside walks to be done straight from the door. The location is ideal for a chill out holiday to recharge your batteries, however, currently Old Town Mill which is just further on the lane from the cottage is being developed to create upmarket housing. There is therefore unfortunately the potential for some occasional weekday/daytime noise. The village of Old Town is a very old settlement and was mentioned in the Domesday book, we still have a village post office & a regular bus service to and from Hebden Bridge. minutes drive of the lovely market town of Skipton, often described as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
Getting around
Hebden Bridge railway station is only just over a mile from the cottage & there are regular services to Manchester, Blackpool, Leeds, York & beyond.
There is a very good village bus service which runs twice per hour from Hebden Bridge & stops within a few hundred yards of the cottage. It is also possible to get a bus to Keighley & then on to the Yorkshire Dales.
Taxis to and from Hebden Bridge are very inexpensive & take approximately 10 minutes. The walk down to town is very pleasant but it's uphill on the way back so a bus or taxi makes the return easier!
