We had lunch at this beachfront restaurant yesterday. We liked the lunch so much that we went back today. The food was delicious and service was excellent. Yesterday we had rice in squid ink and a couple of tapas. Everything was good, but the grilled shrimp and octopus was a bit on the salty side. Today we had tripe and Galician octopus plus a few tapas. We are Spanish cuisine fans and we found the food authentic. We asked the waiter to tell the kitchen to be easy on the salt. The food came and it tasted just right. The cocktails are good too. The restaurant is at the end of the tourist strip along the beach, so it’s not as busy as the other beachfront restaurants. The food is definitely worth walking a few more yards there.

Great, authentic and very fresh spanish tapas. Being quite an amateur myself, i can only say it's well worth the try (a little expensive for some tapas but to import fresh products there's a cost).

And a great beach view !

Enjoy!

Visited here for lunch. Authentic menu and generally the food is very Spanish, except the meatballs they weren't great. Prawns delish and the papas bravas tasty with a kick! Sangria enjoyable and the restaurant has a lovely view of the beach so it's relaxing by the water. Initially the waitress was very good and attentive, but although my friend asked for her meal without olives it came out with olives, and a side salad I asked for never arrived. Not to worry, we were happy enough and paid the bill (prices quite high compared to other places in SJDS and Nicaragua generally). A bit confused by the separate tax and tip situation we left what we thought was a decent amount. However the waitress proceeded to follow us out of the restaurant, gesturing at the 'suggested tip' amount. We actually hadn't seen this but had left a tip, but obviously it wasn't as much as she expected. She was quite insistent that we left the suggested amount and couldn't understand when we pointed out that it said 'voluntary'. This was an uncomfortable end to the lunch. Unfortunately I think this may be as a result of increased amount of Americans visiting the area with their tipping culture.

We eat there at least once every time we visit SJDS. The paella is good, and the mejillones (mussels) are AWESOME -- one of our favorites. It is reasonably priced, and since it is on the beachline, it's nice to eat lunch while enjoying the waves and people.

This restaurant was recommended by our shuttle driver from the Managua airport to have great seafood and it did not disappointment. We arrived to the restaurant with a group of 5 and promptly seated on the outside patio overlooking the San Juan Del Sur bay as the sun was slowly setting. We quickly ordered our drinks and food. While we waited for our food arrived, we all walked out to the beach and took our typical tourist pictures. I’m glad our driver recommended this place. All the food was delicious especially the grilled lobsters and the mini paella. I wanted to highlight that our waitress was very patient with us and would like to thank her. The next day while we were walking the hot, humid streets of San Juan Del Sur, our 75 year old Godmother, was fatigued by the heat. Luckily we were near Meson Español and our waitress, from the previous night, aided her with a cold bottle of water and wet rag to put on her neck. She sat with her for nearly 45 minutes until we were able to get back with the car to pick her up. So to conclude, not only this place have great seafood, it also has a wonderful and caring staff! Thank you again!
