This was our third trip to Woodloch. Obviously different due to Covid, but still the same level of awesomeness. Kids ages 3-12. Stayed for four nights. We traveled together with a few other family bubbles, which was a nice added bonus. There’s so much to do and so much to choose from. I’ve realized that the older our kids get, the more fun it becomes (even though it was still loads of fun 4 years ago when our oldest was 8). Having the kids participate in the various trivia games was great family bonding.
In terms of covid, the staff was great, always masked and always respectful. I can’t say the same for all the guests. But the staff was constantly reminding people to keep their masks on. I did notice that usually the masks came off during a show, where someone would sip a drink and then “forget” to place their mask back on their face. We just made sure to move away from those people. There’s enough to do outdoors and/or spaced-out indoors, that we felt safe.
It was our first time eating indoors during covid. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but even though take-away meals was an option, we decided to stick it out in the dining room. Tables were spaced apart and we felt comfortable. It didn’t hurt that we had a great table tucked away in the corner with a lake view (thank you for placing us there, Woodloch, even if it was just per chance)!
I can’t speak for the food, because we keep kosher and had special kosher food only available during our stay this specific week. The servers were all wonderful and patient. A huge shoutout to Cory, for going above and beyond whenever a need arose. And not just for us - he was constantly helping individual families and always with a smile (even masked, you can tell through the eyes!). It was also nice being personally greeted in the dining room by Bob, third generation, Kiesendahl.
The nightly entertainment was good, but of course nothing compares to the Theme night show that I really hope can be brought back soon! We were definitely missing that! But all the regular Woodloch staples were there, albeit slightly adjusted for the safety of the guests and staff.
If anyone is reading this and is still unsure whether they should go, from a covid perspective, definitely give the office a call and ask away! They are so patient and helpful on the phone. I asked countless questions before deciding to go away and I’m so happy we opted for the getaway! It was a much needed break and bonding experience for my family!
Thank you for a wonderful 4 nights and for the constant cling-cling of medals that I’m now hearing throughout my house :)

Thank you for the review, Rwk716!

We are glad you enjoyed your winter getaway to our resort! 2020 was certainly a challenging year in terms of facing new realities and restrictions, but we are very proud of the product our team has created over the past few months. We hope that restrictions will lift more and more in the months to come, but we are confident that our team will find a way to give our guests a great experience, no matter what may change.

We do everything in our power to ensure that guests not only enjoy their time here but also feel safe. Negative COVID tests are required within 72 hours of arrival, temperatures are taken upon check in, appropriate signage is posted throughout the resort and our staff kindly reminds everyone of safety procedures throughout their stay. Tables in our Night Club and North Lodge areas are safely distanced, and in terms of dining, we allow takeout options as well as spaced dine-in meals.

We are glad you enjoyed the entertainment, and we are right there with you- we look forward to presenting our Broadway style Theme Show once more. Due to safety restrictions placed on our cast, that isn't possible quite yet but we hope it will be in the not too distant future!

Thank you again for the kind words. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Sincerely, and on behalf of the Woodloch Family,

Brooke James, Owner

Our family of four (3 and 8 yr old boys) spent 3 nights at Woodloch over MLK weekend. We had an amazing vacation from start to finish. We were in an Edgewater Suite in the Mountain Laurel building. It was perfect for our family and gave us plenty of room. We especially enjoyed the large walk in closet for all our winter gear, kitchen (we brought our own food for lunch) and washer/dryer.

The dining room experience was great. There is a lot of variety at every meal and you can try as much as you like. They will also customize based on your preferences. The staff is phenomenal. Special shout out to Connie and Stephanie. They went above and beyond. They were so patient with our talkative toddler.

Woodloch offers a full slate of activities daily that appeal to all ages. You have to pre-register for some activities on the app but we never had any problems getting the activities we wanted. Our boys loved the snow tubing, go-karts and fun family competitions. The petting zoo and pony rides were also a hit! We saw 2 of the nighttime shows (yo-yo and magic show). They were fun for the whole family - both my boys were focused the entire shows.

Woodloch management is serious about keeping its staff and guests safe during the pandemic. All the staff we encountered were always masked. There is takeout dining available if you prefer to eat in your room. We felt very safe.

This was our second time at Woodloch and we hope to return a 3rd time in the summer! Thank you.

Room tip: Edgewater Suites in the Mountain Laurel building are larger than rooms in Springbrook building.

Hi there ecooper228!

Thank you so much for your second Woodloch visit, and for all of your kind words on our resort!

We are delighted to hear that you and your young family were able to escape for a few days of fun! The year certainly threw curveballs at us all, but we are feeling more and more confident in our product due to the tireless efforts of our staff. It has been a true team effort since Day 1 of the pandemic and we couldn't be more proud of what we have been able to achieve in sharing our hospitality with travelers these past months.

With two young children in tow, it warms us to know that your family had such a great time! Weather conditions have been more than favorable enough for us to make snow (even if we haven't seen a lot of natural snow) and it sounds like the kids made the most of the great outdoors! We were relieved to be able to once again open our dining room doors and host our favorite games and entertainers in our Night Club. We are glad to hear that the boys approved!

Thank you once again for entrusting us with your precious vacation time- we will always do our best to give our guests the best vacation experience possible. We look forward to welcoming you back on your third visit!

Best wishes, on behalf of the entire Woodloch Family,
Brooke James, Owner

LOVED it! They allow dogs, and the set up was fantastic! We felt safe during covid, the food was delicious (take out from the overlook) and the drinks were even better! From reservations with Carol, to the massage I had at The Lodge with Laura, to the service and smiles, we relaxed and enjoyed every second. Thanks Woodloch for giving respite during a tough time in our world!

With pets being such an important part of the family, we are happy to offer a select few vacation rentals at Woodloch Springs that are pet friendly. While pets are not permitted on our main property (outside of certified service dogs), it is a great option for those of us who need to keep the pets close by. These homes do require an additional cleaning fee and can be booked by contacting our reservations team at 800.WOODLOCH option 1.

Our family was looking for a safe place for some fun outdoor activities over the weekend, and we chose Woodloch. We appreciated the COVID precautions they are taking, such as reserving activity times on their app and offering many outdoor activities. All of the employees were very kind.

Our kids really enjoyed the go-carts, visiting petting zoo, bumper cars, and the ice skating. We were a little disappointed that the snow tubing did not have a tow or carpet to bring the tubes back up to the top of the hill, because I have shoulder problems, and I was only about to tube a few times with my kids because of that. The kids loved the new playground and the crafts that they were able to take back to our room to work on.

We liked that we were able to get our meals to-go to take back to the room, but some of the items we ordered were missing. We enjoyed the breakfast the most.

Our room was clean, but needed some updating. Another suggestion would be to offer water around the resort, like some other resorts we've been to.

Hello there j196! Thank you for your recent stay, and for following up with a review of our resort!

We are glad to hear your stay was a pleasant one! We have worked very hard as a team through these uncertain times to ensure our guests are not only enjoying their time with us but also that they feel safe and comfortable while doing so. It has been a learning process as we approach the one year mark of these regulations and guidelines but we are proud of what our team has accomplished.

We are happy to know that you got to try a little bit of so many of our amenities! With indoor activity stations including our bumper cars, forest playground, pools and our kids crafts room, there are plenty of places to warm up between all of the wintery fun outdoors. It is a little bit of a hike back to the top of our tube run, though it is more about the incline than the distance. Unfortunately, in order to preserve the beauty of our lakefront in the summer months, we do not have a magic carpet structure in place. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Our dining room team has done a great job of coordinating both takeout and dine-in meals throughout this ordeal. We very much apologize for any items that may have been lost or mixed up in orders in the shuffle. We are always willing to make situations right in these circumstances- we are only a phone call away in case of any errors. Please never shy away from giving our dining hotline a call.

In days past, we featured water in both our main lobby and around our activity stations at the lake, tennis courts, go carts and more. With new safety restrictions we cannot, but of course look forward to the day that we can again.

Thank you once more for your visit, we hope to see you again soon!

Sincerely, and on behalf of the Woodloch Family,
Brook James, Owner

My husband and I went For a weekend and we had so much fun. The resort was fantastic, well maintained to say the least, and a true family resort, filled with people to just spend time together and the staff loved their jobs , more than two employees told me that. Impressive. This is a picture perfect old fashioned resort, good fun!
