What is exceptional about this property is...its location. The front yard of this house abuts the rocky coast of the Pacific Ocean. One afternoon we sat on the deck drinking local Oregon beer and watching five grey whales feeding in the kelp forest in front of the house for over an hour. Priceless! And, with the windows open, you are lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean.
Walk out the door and connect to the 804 trail, an amazing and easy oceanfront walk that can extend for miles and miles at low tide on the beach. Head in the other direction towards Yachats, and you can find wonderful pastries and bread at Bread and Roses, or dinner at Ona. You can pick up fresh seafood at Lunasea to cook at the house....all within easy walking distance. Heading in this same direction, there is also a turnoff to go tidepooling.
Hop in the car and head south 10 minutes and you're at Cape Perpetua for more spectacular oceanfront hiking as well as forest hiking.
The house itself is an older home. You can overlook the somewhat outdated decor. The beds are comfortable, and like all Sweet Homes rentals, all the basics are here. And if there is any problem or anything you need, you can rely on Sweet Homes' professionalism to make it right. This was our second Sweet Homes rental, and we're hooked. Our next rental will be a Sweet Homes rental, too.
