“Great place for a quiet retreat!”

The stay was absolutely amazing! We were running late due to traffic on US-101, but Sharon stayed around late to welcome us and give us directions to the cabin, this was very nice of her! We made it to the cabin and right away saw a deer grazing peacefully next to it, that was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise. The cabin was very secluded and tucked in the woods, no sounds of civilization whatsoever, just chirping of birds. And once we got inside, we absolutely fell in love with the place. Everything is made of warm and carefully carved wood, the woodstove made the place feel cozy and warm and we had great and restful night. The next day we used the information guides in the cabin to pick a hike at the dunes and had lots of fun walking on an empty ocean beach. There are several great restaurants within a short driving distance, so we satisfied our cravings for seafood there. This is a great place for a quiet and romantic retreat!

“Honeymoon Heaven”
Reviewed 17 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

My new husband and I stayed at the Cozy Cattail Cabin for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it!

The beautiful cabin is just as secluded as it needs to be. There is no cell service(which is a big huge + for me!), but town is a short, easy drive away. It is very easy to find and the long driveway leading to the cabin is absolutely gorgeous, we stayed in June so there were wildflowers, berry bushes were flowering, and everything was green.

There is a very well prepared binder left on the table with things to do around the area, a dvd player with movies and wood burning stove to cuddle around, and a kitchen well stocked with dishes. You can tell there is a lot of thoughtful care put into your stay, and it makes for a very cozy and comfortable feeling. The house is furnished with beautiful things from the Myrtlewood Gallery, and really showcases a lot of artists from the area. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets were very soft. There were plenty of towels. A washer and dryer is on the porch, which we didn't use but was nice to know that if we had fallen out of the canoe we could have washed our clothes.

While staying at the cabin, we fished, walked along trails we found marked in the binder, and canoed from the dock on the river a short walk from the house. In the binder there is a calendar that lays out the tides so you can plan the best time to canoe, fish, etc. The river is slow moving and easy to navigate, I am a beginner and I had no trouble.

We are not only going to be returning many times in the future, we plan to bring our children (when we start having them) to stay here, if it is available.
We highly recommend this rental, it is a pleasure in every sense of the word and hands down the favorite place we've stayed!

“Beautiful and Serene Cabin ..........”

We came to the area for a wedding and extended our plans to include some vacation time for ourselves. We were looking for a place to stay that provided us with most of the comforts of home and space enough to store our kayaks so we could travel comfortably without them on the car. This cabin was that and more!

The cabin was perfect for us and the pictures we found on the internet mirrored the cabin and the area exactly. The kitchen was fully equipped which made preparing meals so easy, thank you, it even had a 12 cup coffee maker and not just a 4 cup. The cabin was clean, organized, the area was well maintained, and we had total privacy. We settled into the upstairs bedroom which was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the view from the front deck while we shared our coffee and laughs about our days adventures. Some mornings there were a few deer that stopped by to say hi. The owner was easy to work with on scheduling our dates and quick to extend help should we need anything during our stay.

Our stay here was relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. We highly recommend it.
