“Wonderful view and amazing place to stay in Portland!”
Reviewed 29 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights. We loved everything about the place. Vicki had it set up with many thoughtful details and we felt as if we were actually living there. We enjoyed the beautiful patio. It had amazing views and was a peaceful escape after exploring the area. We recommend Cheryl's and Elephants Delicatessen. If you are a book lover you must visit Powell's Books. We visited the Japanese Garden and the Farmers Market on Saturday morning at Portland University. The weather was amazing and we would love to visit again.

“Secret Entrance”

My husband and I stayed in this fantastic apartment for two nights during a warm September in Portland. Finding it up in the hills was a bit of a challenge, but I think that was mainly to do with the crazy navigation system! Once there, at the top of the hill, we were enchanted by the neighborhood and, especially, by the secret elevator entrance to the apartment! And then we saw the apartment.....a really unique, artsy abode in the trees. The bathroom is the highlight, with tiny iridescent tiles covering every square inch. The place is quite comfortable, great bed, and lots of ventilation through open windows.

We had our Portland friends visit to have wine on the expansive main floor deck with an incredible view of Portland and the mountains. What fun to have them enter through the secret entrance!

Our favorite restaurants to dine were Paley's Place and Higgins Restaurant & Bar for gourmet comfort (just a walk down the hill....quite a trek but a great way to work off the calories and see the sights) and Vista Spring for pizza (literally a few steps from the apartment).

Vicki was away in Europe but was extremely responsive via text when we had a question regarding the back door, which leads to steps to the main street (serving more as a fire escape than an entrance). Wish we could have met her; she is quite the artsy decorator and clearly does everything to make visitors feel at home!

Thank you so much! I don't know if YOU knew but while I was in Europe the sump pump blew up down there and I had to manage it from a 9 hour time difference away! It's always hard if I take a trip but the kind of people I've had have been fabulous, like you. Thank you for the great review and please come back so I can meet you!

“Amazing”

My husband I made our way down to Portland for a friends Wedding. After going through rentals in the Portland area via Trip Advisor we decided on this home. It was the best decision we could of made! This place was welcoming and comfortable, our favorite spot was sitting on the deck resting from the days activities. The location is great for quick access to nob hill shopping or downtown. We both agreed that the next time we visit Portland for friends, we'll see if this place is available again to stay.

P.S. Vikki is lovely and gives good advice on places to see or eat.

“Nice alternative to generic hotel room”

When I was researching places to stay in Portland, I wanted something unique and an alternative to the generic hotel room. I found it in Vicki's apartment. It is richly decorated and very clean. It has gorgeous views and is situated in a nice residential neighborhood in Portland. You are about a one-mile walk from coffee shops and a little longer to downtown Portland. Vicki lives on the top two floors of this house. A quaint elevator takes you to the apartment on the first floor of Vicki's house. Vicki is a great host but gives you your privacy.
