Overall, our trip was extraordinary. This rare adventure affords one the opportunity to climb a *600-year-old* Douglas fir tree in the beautiful Silver Falls State Park. Leo proves a capable and worthy guide from start to finish. For example, he provided each explorer with adequate equipment and a (brief) training session on climbing technique before the ascent proper began. He exhibited patience for climbers of all skill levels and was informative throughout the journey; more specifically, Leo pointed out the forest's flora and fauna as we climbed, identifying lichens, canopy layers, and the potential for nearby critters.
The climb itself was challenging but navigable. The ascent concluded near the Doug fir's crown. This vantage provided gorgeous views of the forest's sprawling canopy. This was a meditative and joyful moment for our party--due to the satisfaction of having successfully completed the climb paired with the camaraderie built through doing it all together. For this reason, I'd recommend this trek for e.g., professional (or other) teams who aim to build morale, a strong set of relationships, and an enduring sense of togetherness. Similarly, this outing is perfect for friend groups or lovers who aim to strengthen their bond and expand into a sense of adventure.
Practically, I recommend wearing comfortable pants (e.g., leggings), a light, long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Finally, it's worth hauling your phone or camera along for the climb, as photos amongst the high branches are truly priceless.
